Would you be interested in pulsed light?

Pulsed light is my favorite therapy. I use a whole body light therapy system incorporating beneficial frequencies, which are programmable (they have systems with 10 frequency choices and some with 99). It has made a huge difference not just in skin but in whole body pain relief, mood support (huge for me!) and inflammation reduction. I got my system from Lumiceuticals.

I am tossing up between this, and the CB series II. I think I am going to go for the CB, as it has the new "deep infrared". U currently use my old and basic Peppy mask, even with that when I use a green tea toner, then mist of NIOD Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist, I certainly see a glow in my skin. Just need the Black Friday specials to moce in so I can snap one up more affordability.

To be honest, I am not that convinced by the deep infrared for now. I haven't looked at it in detail, but am not sure why they included it. The fit of the CB series 2 is amazing though!

the new currentbody mask (CurrentBody Skin LED 4-in-1 Zone Facial Mapping Mask) has a red Irridance of 50.4mW/cm² and covers the entire lip contour. There are lamps between the nose and the lips which was not the case with the classic mask Currentbody. But it is more expansive. Do you think 50.4mW/cm² is to much ?
@DoctorAnne
@DoctorAnne 6 ай бұрын
It isn't only about the irradiance, but also about the time you wear it - the higher the irradiance, the shorter the time you need to wear the mask. So no, I don't think it is too much.

I wonder if red light alone will be good or even alleviate melasma? I have been using Omnilux last 3 yes and I have developer spoty on my freckled skin. But the firmness (51) and shine are great, SO I wouldnt want to give up the mask completely😢.
@melindajensen9881

I have melasma and was hoping to be able to use an LED mask, but unfortunately, I have read quite a few articles that day red light makes dark spots and melasma worse. 😪 Apparently, green light is best for dark spots/melasma, but I can't find an at-home device with a good reputation that uses green light.
@DoctorAnne
@DoctorAnne Ай бұрын
Speaking solely from the data we have, it is the blue light that drives melasma, not the red light. But it is important to note that many brands use LED lamps that offer a spectrum rather than a distinct wavelength, which could mean you get unwanted effects. The thing is that sun spots tend to develop over the years, way after the damage occurred, so maybe they would have appeared anyway. There is no way to tell though, which I understand is frustrating.
@DoctorAnne
@DoctorAnne Ай бұрын
@@melindajensen9881 I have seen devices offering green light, but to me that is a huge red flag - there is so little data on green light (same as yellow and pink and whatever else they offer) that I wouldn't confidently use them in a device, let alone promote it to others. The only somewhat robust data we have is on red, near infrared and blue, with blue having shown a negative effect on pigmentation.

@@renataq7592 That is something that often happens to those with freckles over the years sadly. Cute little dots turn into larger blobs of pigment.

I am at a loss. The current body series 2 just came today and I don’t know if I should keep it or order the Maysama Prana. I don’t need the blue light at all but I’m thinking pulsed light is the way to go. Help!

I am going with the CB II. It has the deep infrared, which has lots more scientific backing. I watch a vid the other day from a guy who was very knowledgeable, his channel name was Still in Luck and the vid name was "‘The LED Mask That Actually Works’ He was very kind and helpful when I was asking questions in the comments and explained why this is really the best on the market at this time. Just a tip, I used to use my cheapy mask with clean, dry skin. I saw how green tea and antioxidants will give it a boost, so not use my Insntree Green Tea Toner and spray of NIOD Saccharide mist, I get such a plump, dewy glow now, and highly recommend using an antioxidant prior to the LED, even a clear Vit C serum is good!

Thank you for this video! Can you comment if there are any dip spots (no light areas between bulbs) on the Maysama mask? I know there are none on current body 2 mask. Thanks!
@DoctorAnne

That depends on how close to the face you wear it, but the bulbs in the CurrentBody one are certainly closer.

Is the Maysama Led mask FDA approved? On its webpage it says FDA certificate level 1, what does it mean?
@DoctorAnne
@DoctorAnne 6 ай бұрын
It means cleared by the FDA in the sense that the device is cleared to provide minimal harm to consumer. Approved would mean approved for medical treatment, which it is not. And to be clear most masks are not.

@@DoctorAnne Are any red light therapy devices approved for medical treatment? Is the DermaLux panel? I’ve been vacillating between the panel and a face, neck, and chest and hand mask. I like that this covers the lips but if the numbers aren’t where they’re supposed to be, and it’s best selling point is to use it with the serum, then I’m not sure the trade-off of having your lips covered is worth it because I’m not gonna be paying for their serum to use the mask and if their numbers are lower than other masks, or a panel, I’m not sure it’s worth it. Would love to hear if there is any devices that FDA certifies for medical treatment. What is your favorite red light device? Thanks!
@DoctorAnne
@DoctorAnne 4 ай бұрын
@@ScoobyDoosMom These at home devices are FDA cleared, meaning they won't cause harm when used according to the instructions. They are not certiied for medical treatment. To my knowledge, none of them is, which is mainly a question of money - providing the data to get that is very costly. My favorite to date is still the one from Currentbody, but that one is only FDA cleared as well.

@@DoctorAnne May I ask what you prefer about CB mask over Omnilux? Comfort or ? I was leaning toward Omnilux, both toward their men’s mask (which is safe for women too) as it has some additional higher bulbs and is designed to penetrate men’s thicker skin, but primarily because Omnilux offers the option to extend 2 yr warranty to a 3 yrs for manufacturing defects, in addition to including a 3rd yr of accidental protection. I was planning on purchasing 3 products so with all that expense, I want that extra warranty. Current Body only offers option to purchase a 2 yr accidental damage extended warranty but no additional 3rd year in manufacturer damage. (The companies choose what they offer so that was disappointing.) Omnilux replaces with a new masks. Current Body’s extended warranty plan for accidental damage states they replace w/ refurbished masks which I find quite disturbing. 😱When I saw the newer Maysama masks cover the lips, I’m hoping the leading competitors come up with something similar so I’m not left having to purchase LED lip decide on top of it (plus they aren’t described as very comfortable to hold in your mouth). I’ve found both Omnilux & CB’s customer service leaves much to be desired. They’re being less transparent in some of the specs. (CB now only lists a range for intensity which is disappointing.) I realize these red light devices all come generic from China and companies then slap their brand label on them; I’ve seen the spreadsheets which don’t list the companies ordering them but show how much they mark up price and from what I’ve seen, it’s beyond extreme. Do I totally trust that Chinese companies are providing the highest quality bulbs or that they necessarily spread out the strength evenly? Not at all, sadly. So I want the longest warranty possible.

@@ScoobyDoosMom I hope you don't mind my comment, but I use the Omnilux Contour face mask + the neck/decolletage mask. When done with a cycle, I turn the neck/decolletage one upside down & put it on my lower part of my face & under my chin to cover these areas. I just bought them this month & thought maybe I made a mistake in not getting the pulsed LED light devices. I was thinking I might order the Maysama one, like maybe even the panel, but probably not after watching this video thanks to Dr. Anne....first time watcher of her content.

Have you had an opportunity to read the research on pulsed light effects on brain stimulation? There's (very expensive) devices that were developed with the feature of pulsed light and shows promising effects on those that are developing Alzheimer's disease. I don't know how that translates to skin and aging improvement but I'm very hopeful. Thank you for this very informed review and explanation.
