There's a good video here on KZbin where JPJ describes what their first ever meeting and playing together went like, explosive, you can just imagine it lol. This was filmed in March 69 at Gladsaxe Teen Club, Denmark. The kids were told to keep still and be quiet because the show was being filmed, lucky kids - but I bet their ears didn't stop ringing for ages lol, especially the poor kids sitting so near to the speakers!! They played 4 songs Communication Breakdown Dazed and Confused Babe I'm gonna leave you and a fantastic version of Bring it on Home Wonderful and very rare early footage - to think that 6 months after this show they'd be 🌟superstars🌟 Fate is a funny old thing, lucky for some while others never seem to catch a break, she certainly smiled and pointed her fickle finger at these 4 young lads though 😊

Ohh wow. I want to find the JPJ video!!! Crazy!! Ahh I suspected it might have been Denmark but the original video said Danmark so I thought maybe the host's name was Dan Mark. 🤷🏾‍♂️😄🙂 I did notice there was one kid whose face couldn't contain the amazement and disbelief. And now that I think about it I have zero idea about Dutch music or bands. How far apart was this from what they were used to? I will try to find the rest. I really liked that I could see Bonham clearly here. If I do, coming soon. True. Fate is a strange patron indeed. Increasingly more so in the recent decades. But this was a beautiful gift not just to them but to the entire species. Thank you for telling me about the other videos and for watching. Lots and lots of love. 🙂🤘🏾❤️

@@TheRealBabaRaakha so many of their interviews are great to watch, you learn so much. One I love is from the 1990’s when Plant & Page toured together, it was in Japan. The long interpretations, Page & Plant were funny, they weren’t asked much because it took forever to interpret. Plant is often humorous in interviews, & of course he & the women flirt.

Greetings from Canada. Booked in Denmark and Sweden under his old Yardbirds contract he (Jimmy) first called the band The New Yardbirds. Then- after a memorable discussion with potential 'poachees" John Entwistle and Keith Moon of The Who, he came up with Lead Zeppelin... and later dropped the A for Led. btw, checked your Gmail lately? Peace, love and bellbottoms.

Ahh, this was that contract in play. I remember you mentioned Yardbirds to me a while ago. Page was familiar with the members of The Who as well? Did he only surround himself with all future legends? Were ordinary people even allowed to be in his vicinity???😄 Because that's all I was surrounded by all my life or less than. Peace, love and garlic toast. 🙂🤘🏾

Page actually had like 2 weeks to find 3 others for a band, there were 6 tour dates left from the Yardbirds to fulfill. They had their first rehearsal on August 19,1968, they did those 6 dates & came back & recorded their first album in October. Over 4 days & a total of 35 hours, & was released on January 12,1969. This video, they were plating for a radio show, I’d guess really early (1969), the kids watching had to be quite. Not really the best audio quality, but an absolute treasure to see & hear. I believe it was the only time they did this, they didn’t do TV shows like other bands did. There is a couple other videos from this show, I can’t remember which ones, Dazed & Confused is one of them. Their fame skyrocketed so fast, the band couldn’t even believe it. There’s a great documentary called The Boston Tea Party, something like the day America was killed. Sorry I can’t remember the title correctly, just type in Led Zeppelin Boston Tea Party, it should come up. Worth watching, it’s not very long, maybe 20 minutes. Thank you for your reaction once again.

Wow!! I was told about the Yardbirds and the members, all of whom I realize went on to become renowned guitar players. But I had no idea the timeline was so tightly packed!! What are the odds? Thank you for telling me about this and I will for sure search for Led Zeppelin Boston Tea Party. What are the odds? Who introduced them to Plant??? Thank you for watching. 🙂🤘🏾

@@TheRealBabaRaakha Page & JPJ knew each other from being sought after sessions players, Page at first wanted singer Terry Reed, but Reed had other obligations, & Page couldn’t wait. Reed suggested Page check out Plant, Page & one or two others went to hear Plant, & Page liked what he heard. Page invited Plant back to his house, plant pulled out some albums Page had, & they had the same taste in music. They needed a drummer, & Plant & Bonham we’re good friends & played in one or two bands together, Bonham finally had a study gig & was reluctant to leave. After much begging from Plant & Page, Bonham jumped on board. Bonham kept getting kicked out of small bands, because he played to loud lol, but fit perfect with Led Zeppelin. Such a perfect quadruple match, never one as great, & never will be again. Something else really interesting, their second album was recorded in studios across America, while they were touring. Page said going from airport to airport, with all the tapes under his arm, hoping not to lose any. I believe recorded in either 11 or 13 different studios, he said the different studios made the sounds unique, I think one or two in England too. The second album came out just 10 months after the first, other bands were so surprised how quick they could get albums out. I think a lot of that was due to Pages hard work of not only writing the music, but producing mixing & editing. Yes many songs from these 2 albums were covers, but they definitely made them their own, I think it’s hard to compare them to the originals.

@@TheRealBabaRaakha Page was asked earlier to be in the Yardbirds, but was doing so good as a sessions musician, & learned so much in the recording booth. He recommended Jeff Beck to the Yardbirds, but later Page was asked again & joined. Being in the Yardbirds, Page had some experience touring in America, Led Zeppelin’s manager Peter Grant was also the manager of the Yardbirds. Grant told the band, just concentrate on the music, & he’d handle everything else. They were lucky, he was a great manager for them, not all bands were that lucky.

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me their story. This is fascinating. Sincerely appreciate it. ❤️🤘🏾 My favorite guitar player who influenced me, Nuno Bettencourt, (whose shoutout to Page being how I discovered Zeppelin when I started playing), and his work ethics, influences, the way he met his band mates Extreme have a poetic symmetry to everything you just told me. Perhaps it was fate, serendipity at work again. But even they would admit, nowhere near as nuclear as the mighty Zep. 🙂🤘🏾
