heh, all good, man! I DID do a double-take when you said it once, then at least another time, lol. I was like "Huh? Did i miss something?" imo, just goes to show you dig both bands a lot, and their names ARE a bit similar. They kick ass no matter HOW you say or spell them!

That was fascinating from a historical standpoint and I realized near the end you said that you are familiar with the studio version so yeah, you get an idea once you have that as a benchmark. This was absolutely fascinating.

I was very fortunate to have seen Zep twice, in 1975 at the Seattle Center Coliseum and again in '77 at the Kingdome. I did get to see the Page/Plant "Un-Ledded" tour, as well. They were, in my opinion, a band best experienced live. Love your reactions to the music that has been the soundtrack to my life and times 🤘

You are lucky to have seen them live. Their Seattle1975 show on 3/21/75 was recorded and is considered their best show of the 1975 tour. It was recorded and the soundboard bootleg was released a few years ago, called Deux Ex Machina....after excellent audience recording existed for years before that on the bootleg market. The whole concert is FIRE and they dedicated Stairway to Heaven that night to Jimi Hendrix. Do you remember if you went to that one, or the one a few days before, on 3/17/75? That was an excellent show as well. There is also some 8mm home video from 3/21/75 as well that is pretty cool too.

🔥🔥 from the very beginning - they'd only been together as a band for about 6 months. They began touring at the end of 1968. I think this is their first filmed gig. More Led Zep live PLEASE!! Thanks!☮

Hey Biz, it's me, lol, the dude who keeps recommending CODA. I don't know who told you to skip it, but their wrong. There is quality material you'll want to hear. Trust me, I'm one of the first to recommend Led Zeppelin to you a long time ago. Peace PS And please do the CODA version with the additional tracks, like "Hey Hey What Can I Do" (one of Zeppelin's best tracks...although there are many of those), and "Traveling Riverside Blues" (a Robert Johnson cover).

Great reaction, thanks! You SHOULD do CODA. Yeah, not their best album, imo, but still better than many band's best work. "Darlene" is superb, JPJ on the piano! "Walter's Walk" will kick your ass, lol! (In a good way!) The live version of "I can't quit you baby" is incendiary! (Video is same as audio too, see that!)

Got to hear the studio / radio cut to get the real impact of why this is a fan favorite and a huge radio hit. I still here today sometimes on the radio. But this really is kind of an interesting historical glimpse of them right before they were really breaking.

Yeah, don't skip Coda. Great compilation album of unused tracks and a few live performances of songs not recorded in studio, so not on any of their first 8 albums. It was pulled together after the death of drummer, John Bonham, to fulfill their contractural agreement with Atlantic Records. Cool album of songs that spans most of their 12 years together. I hope you decide to react to it. I love this 4-song studio performance, even when Plant misses a high note now and again (lol) and the poor sound quality. We can see just how mesmerizing he was as a performer even at the young age of 20. It wasn't their first performance as a band. When they formed in August of '68, they immediately went on tour in September, then recorded album 1 immediately upon their return in October. However, it could be the first video of them performing together. I will say that as cool as this performance was, I prefer the studio cut.

If you didn't do Coda you haven't done all of Zeppelin yet! Coda gets a bad rap it has some banger tracks on an album like wearing and tearing! I actually like it better than in through the outdoor! To me into the outdoor is our lease appealing album no bangers on that album!
