Their best live concert on video is Royal Albert Hall 1970. Page was on fire during the MSG shows but Plants voice was already deteriorated by 1973. As a whole band, they were firing on all cylinders during the Royal Albert Hall Show.

THIS. Also, the BBC Sessions, while not really "live" but not studio (Were recorded specifically for several BBC radio shows) is also a showcase of how powerful and simply unbeatable they were at the very beginning. The Since I've Been Loving You performance from BBC Sessions alone is worth the price of admission. I'm surprised no one ever reacts to some of those tracks, but my guess is those are all instantly blocked.

Love your reactions Pope, but this video reminds me of one of the saddest crimes (imho) in music history. When Zeppelin performed at MSG in '73 the shows were recorded to make THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME. Unfortunately,, the person in charge of recording was so inept that much of the video had to be re-shot on a sound stage in England, and some audio couldn't be synced... so the movie ended up with this half version of Heartbreaker, along with fused together pieces here and there. Also, the band footage that was replaced by the 'fantasy' sequences ended up being lost forever on the cutting room floor. Those MSG shows were some of the best ever, and the fact that the band spent so much to capture them without having hours and hours of footage to remaster and re-release is, to me, simply criminal.
@POPE.2 жыл бұрын
that sounds like something that would happen during a zeppelin recording, sad it had to be one of the most legendary recordings 😂
