“Older bands” is right. I’m 69 and this song came out when I was 15, that’s 54 years ago!

Jimmy Page played the guitar with a cello bow, most notably on “Dazed and Confused” from their first album. I don’t think he used it on Whole Lotta Love, but I could be wrong. The video clips are compilation and you also see Jimmy with a double-necked guitar having 6 strings and 12 strings. That was not for this song, but was developed for live performances of “Stairway to Heaven” since he switched from one to the other mid-song and having two guitars would’ve been cumbersome.

Zeppelin is great but in order to really appreciate and enjoy them you must get some headphones and start from the beginning. You wouldn’t start watching a show by skipping around watching different episodes looking for good ones. Listen in order and get the story.

Yep as you spotted Jimmy Page used a violin bow to get more interesting sounds out of his guitar

You were asking about different artists, and I have a list made up for reactors with many of my top artists and examples of songs from 50s-70s, the three best decades in music. I hope it isn't too much. Pink Floyd's 'Echoes.' And 'Comfortably Numb', (live at 'Pulse'). Leonard Cohen, King of poetic folk- 'Suzanne', 'Dance to the end of love'. Johnny Cash- 'I've been everywhere' and 'Ring of Fire'. Martin Denny- 'Quiet Village' and 'Exotica'. Moody Blues- 'Nights in White Satin' and 'Legend of a Mind'. Supertramp- 'Goodbye Stranger' and 'Even in the Quietest Moments'. Rush- 'Freewill' and 'Xanadu'. Frank Zappa- 'I'm the Slime', 'Pink Napkins' and 'Inca Roads'. Steely Dan- 'Deacon Blues'. Led Zeppelin- live versions from the TSRTS concert, ('Dazed and Confused', and 'Stairway to Heaven'), ELO- 'Livin' Thing', 'Twilight' and 'Tightrope'. Yes- 'Wonderous Stories', 'Awaken', and 'I've Seen all Good People'. Blood, Sweat and Tears- 'God bless the child', and ''Go down gamblin'. I can't stop! Astrud Gilberto- 'The girl from Ipanema' and 'Agua de Beber.' Also, groups like ELP, CCR, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, The Bee Gees, the Beatles, Renaissance, the Who, (Tommy), and Jethro Tull- 'Sossity,' 'Songs from the Wood'. Also, a novelty parody band 'Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band'. They played in Magical Mystery Tour, the Beatles film.

Jimmy uses a lot of different techniques and was very experimental with his guitar and his producing. Yes you need good headphones. What you just watched used the official recording with some video of them doing the song live but mostly bits taken from other songs performed live over quite a few years

It's about SEX! The middle bit is sex... They're a blues based (plus jazz, funk etc) rock band. The lyrics are pure blues stuff - back door man, shake for me etc... those are blues tropes

😂 😂 lol your reaction was hilarious You need to pull up the lyrics and watch the video again all alone and you'll probably get the song a little bit more , like peelin back the layers so to speak lol .

You're making the mistake of confusing rock with metal. Metal is a sub genre of rock. Rock itself is a huge and varied genre. Arguablymore so than any other genre.

There is a difference between music of the 70s and 80s and 90s and the music today. While I am not impresssed with alot that is out due to things like too much reliance on Autotune and studio tricks to make the mediocre sound good, there are also several very good musicians out. You just got to hunt for them. As someone who is older I do like Billie Elish. She is someone to watch over the next several years. I am not as impressed with Taylor Swift because she is just too poppy. Something about her music that just bugs me. I also do not respect as an artist Millie Cyrus. I don't care about her antics except they are to get attention because she is an exhibitionist. But, she also has no idea what kind of music she wants to do. One day she is pop, then hard core. Then she thinks she is Janis Joplin, which is sacrilige. Believe it or not I kind of like BTS. They are fun. But, one group out today that is big with collge to seniors is Black Pumas. They had that song 'colors' about 2 years ago. Their album is without a dud. amazing music. Huge crowds. Huge in South America and Europe as well as here. Their first album is retro soul. They came roaring out of Austin Texas. The singer sounds like a combo of Sam Cooke, Al Green and Otis Redding. Actually their cover of Sittin; by the dock of the Bay' stuns. Now Led Zeppelin - my favorite band of all time. Every single member is a GOAT in their area. Especially Bonham who changed the role of drummer forever. Many groups tried to be Zeppelin and were laughably pale immitations. There is so much more to Zeppelin then just the hard rock stuff. They delved into all kinds of styles.
