Yes. But Zeppelin’s second best album of 1969. In fact Zeppelin has more platinum certified albums from the 1960s than The Rolling Stones, Cream, Hendrix, the Who, and Jefferson Airplane. COMBINED. Pretty good for a band that is not even considered a 60s band.

There aren't many bands with as deep of a catalog as zeppelin. Just when you think you heard it all you realize you forgot one. Arguably one of the heavy weight champions of rock/blues you name it.
@Cosmo-Kramer Жыл бұрын
With 90 songs, they didn't have one of Rock's biggest catalogs, but yes, it is exceptionally deep with good-to-great tracks, including a half-dozen or so masterpieces.

There's no band with as deep a catalog of great songs in my opinion, especially if you calculated percentage of how many great songs they had compared to how many they recorded.

John Paul Jones was playing a Hammond organ with a Leslie amplifier for most of the song. It can play many different keyboard/organ sounds including the tone of a massive church organ which was its original intent.

This song is from 1969, nothing else sounded remotely close. I think that is why they had such a big influence on what was to come. As soon as they got a sound, it changed. 12 years or so together and this album sounded nothing like Physical Graffiti or In through the out door.

John Paul Jones was always their not so secret weapon as whether keyboards, bass, acoustic instruments or behind the scenes studio wizardry, he was always amongst the best of at whatever he was doing at the time. For another example, try their No Quarter live from the Song Remains the Same concert movie, he and Page have extended solos and the song is chills inducing. Lastly, he is the bass player on one of the great rock instrumentals ever, from the recently passed Jeff Beck try Beck's Bolero. It also has Jimmy Page on 2nd guitar and Keith Moon on drums and Nicky Hopkins on keyboards. Amazing song, listen to the studio first then see it at Jeff's RR HoF induction with Jimmy coming onto help. They do a snippet of Immigrant Song in it and it is just a killer performance, RIP. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
