I hugged my cats after watching this scene, and they kicked my stomach but I still love them even though they hurt me. I think cat owners know unrequited love perfectly well! 🤣

Nah bc that whole cat analogy was one of the best kdrama monologues in kdrama history. let’s pause and talk about how lee junho said seeing her be brave made him become brave. And let’s talk about the fact that he basically said he loved her. The relationship we have with our pets can be like this. Like, we love them no matter what, we take care of them without expecting anything back, and all we want is for them to be our company. It doesn’t matter if a pet gives you the same amount of attention or love, because having them close is enough. And that’s exactly what he meant by the cat analogy. He wants to be with her and even if she might not love him the way he can love her, being together is enough. but when she said “cats love their owners too” omg. She was basically saying she loved him back. And then she sprinted away and gave him the most flirty look as she ran past him while he was completely breathless and teary eyed. The absolute perfect end to the season. Love our whalecat couple!!!!

You bring up a good point, i.e. that WYW's act of bravery inspired JH's confession. And, that's been something quite refreshing and special about the series. Although WYW has autism, it doesn't make her a "bad" egg, she's just a "different" egg. She's the sole blue duck amongst all the yellow duckies. Or, as she explained to her mother, Tae Sumi, a Narwhal living with a pod of Belugas. What an analogy! Lastly, she's like a loving cat, correcting JH's initial interpretation of unrequited love from cats toward owners. WYW's directness often comes across as stinging, but it's just factual information. People with autism can be mistreated as having limitations, when they are still people with personalities, and some are incredibly gifted. WYW's social awkwardness offset by her tremendous genius have repeatedly changed the course of those legal cases. Although it's fiction, I've enjoyed this show for shining a light on autism and not dehumanizing those on the spectrum. Wishing the EAW team and cast best of luck for a S2 in 2024. 🤞

Yes we don't hear enough people talking about how it was her bravery that gave him courage to try and talk to her. That was another wonderful piece to this scene that gets lost in the rest of it.

I loved that look she gave him! I think it was flirty but that was also the moment where she began to feel fulfillment which she mentioned to her Dad later. I can't wait to see her bring him home to meet her Dad. However, worry about her meeting his parents considering the way his sister reacted.

My favorite part is how she was able to realize that just getting out of the car was inappropriate all on her own. The scene is great in the romantic sense but that added layer really shows how Young Woo is growing as a person. It highlights the fact that people with autism are a lot more capable than they’re given credit for and if given the opportunity or attention they’re can really flourish. I love that he’s helping to bring that out of her.

Junho's nonverbal expressions are priceless and very contagious. He makes you cry when he's sad and he makes you laugh & smile when he's happy. Just like that! For me, looking at him responding to Young Woo brings out a different feeling & understanding about autism. The slight break in his voice when he said "let's not break up" pulls at the heartstrings, it's so sweet and yet the hint of desperation? perfectly executed. The nuances in his acting helped convey how deeply he really loves her. Kudos to KTO! I didn't pay much attention to him in his other dramas but I'll be on the lookout from now on. He's not yet on PEB's omega level skills but he can spar with her. They made a good love-team! At first I thought they chose him because he looked a bit like Rowoon (which might help attract fans from TKA?) but I think the casting directors probably saw in him what we are seeing here. Either way, happy the writers made this decision to further their relationship, and that he was able to overcome her emotional wall when she was firm about not making him a lonely partner.

The ‘cat love’ goes both ways I feel. Remember when Young woo would just wait to see Junho and ready to go about her day without expecting anything in return? Or when she calls him one night and is just happy to see/hear him without expecting him to do anything? Have heard this of people in the spectrum, they love without expecting back. Also the breakups in kdrama land mostly feels forced and just for the heck of it. Here I felt Youngwoo’s reason was genuine and hence their getting back too was so nicely done!

If you really think about it, she has always been exactly what his analogy described. He put in so much thought into what to say and that’s why he’s always been a green flag. Since the beginning, from the very instant that they met, he helped her through the revolving doors, no hesitation. It can be compared to someone finding a little kitten that’s helpless in the street. Next was when he said she could talk about whales to him and she would follow him around. It’s like the little kitten found a person who could be her friend and offer support. Then, he slowly began to realize that he actually needed her by his side and would be amazed at the things she would come up with and do during her trials. It’s like he knew the little kitten was full of warmth and so cute and would make him smile. When they decided that they would be together, sometimes he would get frustrated about what she would do or say in their relationship. It’s like a little kitten who sometimes doesn’t give you enough attention and wants to wander around instead of spending time with you. And lastly, him realizing that when he doesn’t have her around and they’re broken up, that he actually needs her to be happy. The person came to terms that even after everything, the little kitten is the one who offered the most happiness in the persons life, and that they want to spend as much time as they can with it. I can’t seem to get over this. It’s just too perfect and I need season 2 now

Everything in this scene is perfectly executed. Using the cat human relationship as an analogy for their relationship is quite clever. But there are three things that I love about this scene. 1st one is the way Jun Ho asked Young Woo not to break up. He said all the reasons that made him happy without hiding the fact that he also felt lonely sometimes but despite that, he had the courage to ask YW to keep their relationship in a firm, with a hint of desperation, hope and uncertainty kind of way. For me that was enough to see how despite his calm facade at that moment, his voice and eyes tell the willingness to ask her, the fear of getting rejected the second time and hope for their relationship to work. The second thing I like about this is how YW commented and answered JH. We all know when it comes to communication she can be a tough nut to crack. But here, YW said what's on her mind. She was indirectly saying that the love they have isn't unrequited. The moment she also said "Let's not break up" feels like an answered prayer. She's giving JH a confirmation and reassurance to keep their relationship. That's why I will now tell the last thing I love about this scene. The way JH looked and got teary eyed while watching YW.The way I see it, it wasn't just tears of joy. It was tears of relief. From what I said earlier JH may have been planning this moment for a while since they broke up and that dread feeling of being rejected or YW not wanting to get back together may have been building up from him. Which is why the moment she said as well not to break up and leave, he was in a state of relief. The fear of totally losing her was completely wiped out that he shed tears.

What a beautiful end. It wasnt just him loving her, ofcourse Junho started it and developed a crush on her but it was her sincerity, and her innocent love and the way she tried to make HIM feel special by being nice to him and all chivalrous despite her social anxiety etc, that was what kept him going. When she broke up because she didnt want him to be lonely, it proved that after all he isn't the only one who will have to look after her, she will too, just in her own way.

As a 60 year old English man, we are supposed to be stoic and have a stiff upper lip when faced with emotions. But I have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed this show and found it refreshing, especially when compared to the identity and political riven stuff pushed down our throats by a lot of Western productions. My stiff upper lip has wobbled slightly during this show and if either of my daughters comes home with a Junho, I'll be a happy man. I am also smitten by Park, who has been erm extraordinary indeed! What makes this scene so heartwarming and especial is that they just told each other “I love you” In their own different and unique way. JH was honest and straightforward and didn’t say any lies like “I don’t feel lonely” but instead told her that he does feel lonely but that for him being happy makes it worth it, in other words “I love you and even though I feel lonely sometimes, is worth it because you make me the happiest with everything you do and who you are as a person”. And WHW telling him “the expression, the unrequited love towards cat is inappropriate” means “Don’t you ever things that I don’t love you, because I do, and my feelings for you are the same as yours towards me”. And also when WYW says “Because cats loves their owners too” she just said “I love you, Jun-ho” which is why he is so shocked, because she finally express her feelings (in their own way). 🐳 I just love how beautiful this scene was written. It describes perfectly their relationship. I truly hope season 2 happens because two years is a long time and a lot can happen, and they can have schedules conflict but if they push through with it, I think seeing WHW and LH relationship grow will be a beautiful thing, and also seeing WHW because a “no ordinary attorney”. ♥️ ✨ Manifesting Season 2 in 2024 with the same cast. ✨

I like how she said “cats love their owners too”…and I think the writer has done an excellent job in delivering a warmth hearted drama to us, not only through the story of the main characters but also little details from supporting characters. The kindness and warmth that we always search for in life is depicted through those little details…in this scene Tae Su secretary came to the gate to pick up Young Woo and the way he greeted them smiling really touched me. Some people don’t like Kwon Min Woo but I think his character is just realistic and somehow very interesting, fun and enjoyable to watch. He gave advices to Junho and there were some funny scene too
