I gave up Alcohol, Cigarettes, Cocaine and Coffee not too long ago. I was fed up of a lifestyle that was run by my addictions. Being healthy is so much better and fun. Thing is people ask me now what I do for fun and it's exercise. When your healthy EVERYTHING is better and more fun. You can't exercise when your hungover.

+James Carmichael i've been having problems with alchohol and cocaine lately... Problems with the relationship, been taking a HEAVY toll on me :(. Trying not to lose my girlfriend ive been with for 10 years. Dispite my problems i've put on 6 kgs, shred a bit of fat and strength through the roof. Though my vital organs are properly screamy because of my abuse and heavy stress from my bulking. :( Gotta get my shit streight before i end up in the hospital :)

Sweat what out? Alcohol has already been absorbed by the time you have a hangover. Sweating with alcohol in the system does nothing but dehydrate you more and has zero effect on blood alcohol levels. You can't sweat a hangover away - it's a myth.

Blackster2008 My experience is my own and may not work for you, but I took on a kinda Buddhist mentality towards my addictions. Don't look at things as individual parts. They're all related and lead to and from each other. Most people's thoughts and emotions are all over the place because of our diets, stressful lifestyles, work, children, relationships etc. When you learn to meditate your focusing your mental energy on an "object" usually the breath and the stomach rising and falling. It trains the brain and builds neural pathways to have a more balanced overlook on things in general, but it takes time. When it comes to Alcohol for example. When we get a craving we exercise in kind of Confirmation Bias. We crave it so we only look at the positives of the addiction and ignore the bad stuff. Meditation trains you to have a more balanced overview of something so with alcohol you can clearly see the addiction for what it is and the Confirmation Bias dissolves away along with the Peer Pressures etc. It takes time to get good at Mediation, but I highly suggest looking at Ask A Monk: How to Meditate series of videos on youtube and learn how Confirmation Bias works in terms of addictions. I really helped me enormously. Hope it helps and good luck. Alcohol and Cocaine only lead in one direction and that's down.

I totally did it once, sort of, Mark. I was in a gym in Brissy COMPLETELY FUCKED after surviving my old bouncing boss poisoning me repeatedly. This massive man in well covered clothing was in the gym and looked concerned for my welfare. We talked for a while and I hilariously, in hindsight, quoted him something that he had written but for which I couldn't remember the author of. On the way out the staff said to me, "Did you see Lee Priest in there", and I was like "Whatt??", totally didn't even know I was so messed. Complete gentleman and totally unexpected, the experience helped me keep faith in suffering beyond imagination. Caveat, I think he was a little offended when I said I would spot him for a heavy bench if he wanted haha. There was no way, I just wanted to see.

So much respect for this dude. We met at the Miami Pro Show run by Gordon McNichols. At the time I was the President of Azag Inc. Dymatize Nutrition Systems and this video depicts him perfectly. Super nice and super cool but at the time Titus was our athlete. What a crazy time in my life. I’m glad it’s over and I lived through this peroid. Craig was my problem and he was so hard to handle. There were drugs all around us and Nubian was the choice coookie. Lee was not a part of the Titus scene or Dymatize and the reason was he was a few pay grades above Craig and out of our reach. Glad his motor is running well. I remember his ex-wife was very nice.

You control your heart rate by setting your pace and you control your calorie expenditure with pace and duration. And I never get nearly as bored as when I used to row 60 minutes/day on a rowing ergometer. I've been lifting seriously since 1978 and I've never met another weight sports enthusiast who includes hiking as part of their fitness plan.

Lee is a great guy! he and dorian Yates are my favorite all time body Builders. But I have to say lee has and had the best looking body and genetics I ever seen. He was the only man on the stage at the, I think 2006 Arnold classic that had an 8- pack . and the man's semitry And arm's where the best I ever seen. He is my all time fave.

+Cnark park: Good advice. I've been lifting (Olympic-style) since 1978 and your suggested method is the best way to even out imbalances. In a way you're sort of cheating your stronger side, but in time both sides will equalize and then you can go all out and kick ass.

I do recall many years ago being consumed with (natural) bodybuilding in my high school and college/university years. I am glad I that eventually came to my senses and combined (natural) bodybuilding (10% of the time) with swimming (20% of the time) and running (70% of the time). I am currently aiming for my 58th winning running medal (81st overall) and believe that I not only enjoy a superior "high" over professional bodybuilders but will outlive even the smart ones such as Lee, Phil, Arnold, Lou, Ronnie, Jay and Dorian.
