Yes! They tend to leak from time to time but it's a small price to pay for such an amazing unit. Mine has like a million miles LOL but still working like a champ. Don't worry about your purchase you will be fine.

Neither is "I get my wheel weights free from the local tire shop"....."I usually trade a case of beer, box of doughnuts, couple packs of smokes, lunch for them!" Um yeah in October 2022 NO you don't! IF you are very lucky you can BUY them for $1 per pound. IF you aren't very lucky they will cost $2+ per pound or the "tire shop" won't sell them to you at all citing some EPA broker regulation bullshit as the reason.

I just ordered one, they are $99 now $107 to my door, I hope it works good. I am taking the 1,000's of #8, #7 ,#7.5 bird shot I have and making 7/8oz 12 guage slugs and 00 buck shot and reloading them. I bought a sweet little hull crimper also. Now I can take a $20 box of 100 rounds of 12 guage #7- #7.5 -#8 and turn them into a round with a little bit more knock down power for bigger game for the table. Nice video brother.

I just bought one of these. Seems like the newer design metering rod that screws directly into the activation lever has solved the drip/leak problem. So far about 1000 bullets cast and simple adjusting stops the dripping/leaking. About $87 from Midway. Also, I think the now vertical metering rod is superior to the older design angled rod. Also, I have seven Lee moulds which produce excellent quality bullets, along with moulds from RCBS, SAECO, Lyman, Nei, and NOE. All top quality.

I just received mine in the mail yesterday. They are over $100 today, but I think the price is reasonable. It is a simple device, but appears to be well made. I have come to like Lee products. They are will made and less expensive than their competition.

+TraditionalBlackPowder have been using the pot for about 3 mounts now and I am very pleased so far. At the moment I am using it to mould .58 minie for my Pedersoli Enfield 1853 and I just bought myself a Pedersoli Brown Bess and with the .75 caliber I do save quite a few bucks versus buying in the store.

+TraditionalBlackPowder Yes they are. Next on my list is a Hawken like your Lyman Great plains rifle. Would love to have a black powder rifle with a set trigger.

In order to get a Perfect Pour every time I had to drill the orifice out to twice its normal size but that's all my pour problems.. I found if it takes longer than one second to fill the mold you'll have inconsistencies

factory produced projectiles are made under very strict tolerances and regulations for sizing and weight. Hand loading ammo allows you to customize the loads to a particular firearm to your own desires.
@JohnDoeEagle1 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, not true at all. Take a box of 50 factory ammo and measure the COLs and case lengths. Average +/- 0.004" is common with as much as +/- 0.010" sometimes. The powder charges are not +/- 0.01 grain either neither are the bullets the best performing or most accurate. Most factory 9mm practice ammo is 115 grain for example. 124 grain IS MUCH MORE ACCURATE and functions better too. I've never seen any H&G #68 200 grain LSWC .45 ACPs for sale. They are a Bullseye Comp shooters preferred choice and can easily hold 1" or less at 25 yards if the shooter does his part and the pistol has been tuned up a bit. I don't see 148 grain wadcutters for .38 Special either and is also a Bullseye Comp shooters preferred load that is very very accurate.

I have a bunch of lead and I bought a sinker mold for 12oz and 16oz cannon ball weights. Do you think this would work for pouring that much lead?

Had one and it worked for a while, then I couldn’t get it stop leaking so I bought an RCBS that’s far superior. Now I use the Lee just to heat up my moulds. Well, what do you expect from something that looks like it was made from scrap yard parts?

If you use zinc in this pot you may have a chance to blow a hole through the pots material. That’s what happened to Elvis on his channel elvis ammo. The zinc seems to corrode the pot.

You need some serious power and insulation to melt copper. A small furnace that can melt copper is pretty expensive.
