Lee's YB Powered Mk1 Escort - Cossie engine rebuild ! - Part Two

We return to Barum Engines Ltd. for Part 2 of the Cosworth YB Engine rebuild.
A custom made oversize Ductile Iron cylinder liner arrives and gets installed. The crank gets a fancy PTFE oil seal before being refitted back into the block and the End Float is checked
We discover a bent inlet valve , and once replaced - the engine can all go back together again :-)
Finally a run down of the work & costs involved for this rebuild

Money well spent I think. They are very honest and transparent engine builders. At the end of the day you get what you pay for! The car is going to be a beast and reliable. What power do you reckon it will run? Mint build mate.

Thanks Jonny. Although capable of a lot more , I'm hoping for a genuine 300-350bhp at the back wheels - with the emphasis on torque & reliability. I'm really not interested in 'pub talk' numbers. It's only a little MK1 Escort , it should be rapid without being undrivable 😊
