@frotboy5 жыл бұрын
@Taimoor Khan But biomechanically it is easier to pull up 140 lbs with little muscle than it is to pull up 250 lbs of muscle. Yes the muscles are bigger but the effort grows exponentially .
@tunafish628 жыл бұрын
Hey fellas, again, thanks for the support in the build up to this and the positive comments now. First up, I agreed to the added 2kg & 4kg weight added that Jarryd asked for - I didn't like it but I was still confident of being able to do the first part unbroken with the 12kg ... I'd done it in training but fell short on the day and it messed up my rhythm ... tbh, i really didn't expect Jaz to do those first 10 muscle ups with 10kg in 1 go BUT he did and that deserves a lot of respect, i doubt there's another 55kg guy on the planet that could do that - I thought i'd at least be leading going into the bodyweight part but never mind. Jaz did a great job, he only had 2 people there supporting him and came to a different country to battle - I have no complaints about how it went, his form on the muscle up, pull up and dip was all good, *people have different styles and form ... He was smoked when it came to doing the press ups and his hips dropped and broke his line, he lost a lot of reps for this and i even pointed it out to the judges but if i'm honest he was already way ahead - he could've collected himself and used better form if he allowed himself to recover more - he had time! Both Solo Pnp and Ranjit Bhachu thought it was a bad idea to battle a guy with such a big weight difference but in the end i decided i would do it anyways and i have no regrets. This wasn't a leg workout so no need for 'leg comments' ... We both gave 100% and he came out on top but all we really wanted to do was show how real Calisthenics should be practiced and worldwide - the previous two videos, with no disrespect to any of those 4 guys had 'questionable' form and hopefully myself and Jaz put things back on point through most of these reps anyways and if anyone actually puts themselves through this disgusting workout then they will know the realness of pain through working out ...

I had some misunderstanding with Lee in past but for this one mad props to him. What Jarryd said about weight is pure nonsence. Maths and Physics basics plus apply common sense please. I am sorry for people like him who will never see the truth. Whole upper body pulling is based on total-weight of body and also legs weight. (thats why u will never ever see heavy people like 100+kg who squat alot do muscle ups or alot pull ups). Bigger the legs weaker the pulling overall, heavier you are much harder pulling overall. Most of this battle is pulling based (mu, pulls) so having different vest when Lee is actually already so much heavier was so-so. But respect both of course, this is going back to roots and showing epicness of calisthenics mega sets, throw in some pistols next time and u done it perfectly.

@247positiveNl8 жыл бұрын
Tell 'em
@IamHueGraves8 жыл бұрын
...No it's not. If we were talking about how much skin they had, maybe. "The square-cube law (or cube-square law) is a mathematical principle, applied in a variety of scientific fields, which describes the relationship between the volume and the area as a shape's size increases or decreases."
@OlafKosten8 жыл бұрын
+IamHueGraves Muscle strength is roughly proportional to muscle cross sectional area. Weight is roughly proportional to volume. Muscle cross sectional area roughly increases with the square of height (e.g. twice as tall = four times the muscle cross sectional area). However volume (and weight) roughly increases with the cube of height (e.g. twice as tall = eight times the volume and eight times the weight). This is also a big reason why BW-Training is more difficult for the heavier and taller guy.
@IamHueGraves8 жыл бұрын
***** all you're saying is that he weighs more, I don't deny that. I deny that that is what the Square Cube Law is. SCL is about the relationship of area and volume. You're not talking about his surface (area) in this case.

+Edgaras Jarašūnas Human physics dont calculate weight mathematically and ist also a matter of the proportion, part lengths and so on for the real definition who has to carry how much additional weight to fit a fair challenge. The metric for why I am suspicious of him has nothing to do with whether or not I can or will ever achieve their level of fitness. It has to do with his age, condition, and capacity for work. I am also very aware that there is next to no integrity when it comes to strength athletes in terms of honesty. I have a problem with it when they claim to be natural and are not. You are entitled to your opinion of me which I do not care about at all. I think he is on testosterone replacement, in the very least. I do not believe he is capable of being a one in a million athlete at the age of 40 when the male athlete naturally peaks in the middle to late 20s. This is why the vast majority of Olympians are of this age cohort. I don't take a person's word for it anymore. It isn't prudent.

so,in track and field, we should let one begin a few feet in front, because his legs are smaller? A pole vaulter who is heavier gets a lower bar? You must account for your weight vs. your strength and endurance, and compete against your opponent with his weight, strength, and endurance. boxers don't get special treatment for less arm reach!

Great battle! I really feel there should be some leg stuff in there, even if the theme is Bar Wars.

i still dont get this weight difference but hey, lee agreed so.

This was well impressive. I am inherently sceptical to these types of competitions since so much is based on form and in this case the weight difference is also a big factor. I salute Lee for sticking to proper form throughout and he is the true champion in my eyes. A 40 year old who is relatively new to the sport, performing every rep of every exercise with proper form and having +15 kg on his opponent. Respect!

This wasn´t fair, wtf, the guy with more weight had to add even MORE weight? Man wtf is this battle?
@lean92096 жыл бұрын
Sergio Airaldi agree, the guy with more weight actually have to do more work. Cuz he’s holding a heavier weight and also his own weight, it wastes more energy.

respect to both you guys but them push ups were no good the judge who allowed those push ups to count was terrible, push ups are chest or chin to floor most of them was hip or belly to the floor, we all know it can be very hard to get even your last push up out when your tired like that, and in my opinion i think lee would of over took him on the push ups as jarrod wasted a lot of energy on push ups that didn't count ,jarrod was finished buy the time he started them body weight push ups judging by his form, or why did he use such terrible form??? he would of struggled to finish or may not even of finished if he was made to do it properly , i believe lee would of won jarrod would of been like a camel in quick sand as lee would of passed him, why would a top guy use such terrible form???? , im sorry but in my books thats cheating because as a top trainer you know your press ups dont count so why do them,, good effort by both guys poor judging spoiled the true out come ! defo good reason for a rematch,,, you one guy for eg has 15 pushups and the other guy has 3 who wins?? when your tired like theses two guys anything could happen the guy could come from behind as the other guy strugles to do one pushu at at time, all im saying is the best part of the battle was just about to start the blood and guts the digging deep the presure.... you guys need to sort out your judges lee had a chance to close the gap at least but poor judging as usual spoils it in all sports!

That is absolutely bang on bro ... I'm not hating on Jarred at all but before this battle even took place we both demonstrated exactly how the form needed to look and be done ... Jarred's press ups were entirely different from the ones he showed in the demo to the ones he was doing in the battle ... he was struggling to keep his hips in line with his body which shows his core was fading / fatigued ... If he'd have rested more and composed himself he wouldn't have done them like this *or shouldn't have done them like this - You are very observant and this is the best comment i have read on here ... I'm not saying i would've caught Jarred but this is spot on ... It must've been hard for Miguel as he did take away quite a few reps from Jarred in the press up stage, Jarred tried to correct his form but couldn't keep those hips up!

do these guys build their physiques solely on calisthenics or do they incorporate gym workouts as well (bench press, squats, etc)?

Only Calisthenics
@tedbert78 жыл бұрын
They maintain it through calisthenics, but they built it up via weights.
