Notice most of the ones that sold out fast are said to have been slow growing, which means it's not producing a lot of cuttings.

Appreciate this recap as I'm always curious on what's our there. It's fun to see how the popular varieties have changed so much since he started doing his cuttings sales!

Nice video review thanks for sharing. Two others I noticed that sold out after I was done my two quick orders (so I’ll say within 10 mins) was: golden rainbow and a Smyrna type: shenshare. After I placed my two orders I wanted to see what was gone so quickly too. Nothing I either didn’t have or was on my radar but I was curious and figured I’d share.

Being from NC too I'm interested in the Irene's black now. I also would like Del San Juame Gran and Calderona. Just starting my first cuttings now so probably should get through a year with Celeste and Brown Turkey first huh....lol. I had bought cuttings for Smith and I-258 and managed to kill them. Hopefully in the future I can add these varieties. Thanks for sharing.
@TheRealHonestInquiry6 ай бұрын
You should practice your rooting with cuttings from the Celeste and Brown Turkey, then move on to buying more expensive cuttings when you feel confident and are as close to 100% success rate as possible. I recommend the YT video from Korean Gardener "The Best Method I've Found For Rooting Fig Cuttings". Good luck.

Hi Lee. I really backed off on buying this time, since I've already got over 100 cuttings growing now. I did buy 17 cuttings, but nothing special. I'm surprised that Figoin hasn't sold out yet. It used to sell out fast. I've got an Irene's Black Greek that should produce for me this year. The Euclid cuttings are growing well now, and I'll always be grateful for getting them from you. My friend Seth (Ohio Figs) thinks that Euclid could be similar, if not the same as his "Early Adriatic". Maybe by next year, I'll be able to compare them both. Great video, by the way, Lee.

I had a bunch on my list, then had a cat emergency that wiped me out. However, there're a few left that I'm going to complete my purchase on after this. Thanks for jump-starting next year's list for me!
@mattsgardenlife18817 ай бұрын
It's like the slow growing maybe not so excellent trees don't put out very many cuttings, which makes cuttings more rare, and are priced based on availability.

I wanted Beltrana, Calderona, De La Senyora (Hivernenca), Dels Ermitans, GM 175 Gozo Gem and Irene's Black Greek, but they sold out before I could order. 😭 I'm still very happy to have picked up Colonel Littman's Black Cross, Nerucciolo d' Elba, and Nuestra Señora del Carmen before they sold out 😎 It's going to be a tasty late summer 🤤

I missed out on Irene’s black Greek myself. It was sold out around 30-40 seconds for me. 😢. On a KZbin video Dennis was a speaker for a fig gathering and he said he wasn’t getting rid of anymore cuttings of Irene’s black Greek for two years and the video was released in September 2022 so maybe towards the end of year he will get rid of more. I’m sure they will pop up on figbid but will be inflated prices.

Hello there my friend, I was one of the lucky ones that got most of the ones I wanted, I have sent to you couple of messages about one of your figs that you found in the Euclidian Road I believe , I am very interested on that, I am asking you if you can make me an earlier or perhaps let me know how I can get a couple of them. I’ll be very much appreciated. I would appreciate an answer back. Thank you so much. The video you done on Harvie ‘s cuttings it was outstanding

Aw, I’ll hook you up with a Bebera Branca if you still don’t have one by the end of the year. I’m hoping to have at least 30 cuttings of Euclid next year. I’ll have to send out an email or make some type of announcement because many people are asking for it. They won’t be available until 2025, though.

Calderona is believed to be the same as or at least indistinguishable from Bass's Favorite Fig aka BFF! I have two, and I have fresh cuttings I will be posting on Figbid soon.

Harvey says that Calderona is "absolutely not" BFF. I haven't tried either, so I couldn't tell ya.

@@govindasgarden Harvey has also said his ability to taste figs is not very sophisticated. Evan Durtschi told me they're indistinguishable and he has an incredibly sophisticated palate, so if they aren't the same, they're indistinguishable. Perhaps a genetic test will help settle it. @Figaholics What do you think it is? Don't recall the story behind it. I believe it was a fig bass lost the tag to it and named it Bass' Favorite Fig but it's really an unknown. Well unknown to Bass but not the the person who sold it to him. If Bass can remember where he got it from he could figure it out. I have both and they seem the same. Others on Ourfigs say it's seems like the same. It's all just opinions until someone does a DNA test.
