I bet the bowl with the hole is for yarn. So you can knit/crochet and the yarn stays and doesn’t get tangled.

Hi Laura, the striped jug at 40.23 is from New Zealand. Hanmer Pottery from a north Canterbury town. The pottery is from the 60’s, I have a collection of it. It is worth about $25-$30 Nz dollars. I have been following you for a while now, love your videos, I recently purchased 2 pieces of Bitossi here in Christchurch which I love thanks to you introducing me to it.

As others have said, the metal tray is made by Guardian Service. They stopped production in the mid 1950's when their factory burnt. This piece is a tray used to carry a set of "tri-pots" to the table. There is a different Guardian Service piece that is a griddle -- it has a smooth surface. One way to clean any of these pieces is to leave them in the oven when running the self-cleaning cycle. Then a gentle scrub will remove the remaining residue.

Looks like you girls are having a lot of fun and getting some neat finds. Loved your friend's lama painting, also loved all your choices, Laura, particularly the (alabaster- do not soak or get wet. As a soft stone it will start flaking off in layers.) owl bookends and that awesome watercolor for six bucks. The tray you got that you said was greasy is actually for cooking tortillas and or pancakes. My grandma and mom used them way back when. It should clean up nicely (soak in dish soap and baking soda), to be used as a tray. Yay for Jesse's bucket list bubble lamp! : )

Laura, I’m always amazed at all the fabulous finds you & your friends find. I’m down on the east coast and we do not have these kinds of finds here. Our thrift stores are mostly stocked with beach finds. Of course, this is great for tourists. I have chosen to decorate more like Charleston. Unfortunately, I mostly have to order online decor. Haven’t read all comments so not sure if you heard about Mama Ro…company started by an Oregon woman (went to OSU with her in ‘60s but her name escapes me). She had all the pottery made in Italy but I think she designed it then sold it in her shop near NW 23rd and Lovejoy. I think our whole family has her ceramic drawers in a wood box on the counter. We bought lots from her.

I used to go to the Margaret Hudson studio sales with my mom in the 70s, early 80s in Fresno, CA. Fond memories, but they also make me cringe as my MIL also had an abundance of these things. My father had a quail with a broken head feather to fix on his workbench for 20+ years and we were giddy when we decided just to throw the whole thing away. Maybe I'll end up with the bear planter down the road purely out of guilt. The Nelson lamp find is amazing. I have fond memories shopping the Grants Pass antique stores when I was a young adult when visiting my Grandparents from CA. I'm amazed at what you find.

And let me also add that the PNW stores have so much furniture, you would think that being in the furniture market capital, (high point, nc) that our thift stores would be loaded, but they are no, our goodwill stores do not have discount colors and our salvation army stores are very crummy. I love going thrifting when ever we travel to other states:)
