This was very helpful! I am going to implement the dumbell bench curls and the rowing seat curls. I discovered an isometric online for hammies that just uses your legs. That has really fired up my hams as well.

What a bunch of GREAT ideas. I've been dropping the bar on my Smith machine down low and trying to do Nordic curls. But now, I'm going to turn over and hang from the bar the way you showed. That should be a lot less strain until my hamstrings get stronger. If my grip starts giving out then I'll try using some rubber gloves from Harbor Freight to hang longer. If that doesn't work then I'll buy a pair of straps that weightlifters use for heavy deadlifts. Thanks for making the video.

EXCELLENT!!! Wish I had seen this when on Covid lockdown a few years ago (all the gyms were closed) and I was working out at home. I had a squat rack, bench, barbells, dumbbells, bands, etc, and worked a few hamstring exercises but didn't think of all these. I will keep my home gym (even though I'm back at my regular gym) and will use these again - also I will try some of these at the away gym for variety. Thanks! Liked and subscribed.

Right away you point out how flexion only hits 3 heads while extensions hit 4. It's amazing that most trainers/coaches won't even mention that ever.
@CitizenAthletics3 жыл бұрын
Definitely! Most don't realize that the biceps femoris short head is only hit with knee flexion!
@Rbcaul3 жыл бұрын
I feel confused, in the video he actually says the extension movement hits only 3 , and flexion hits the 4th one that extensions don’t (I don’t know myself I’m just looking for clarification )
@maiwai63 жыл бұрын
@@Rbcaul “HIP extension” (bending at the hip) hits 3, “KNEE flexion” (bending the knee) hits all 4… is that a bit clearer? 🤙 I’m loving these different variations 🙌

Good selection of exercises! I usually go with nordic curls and swiss ball leg curls (performing the "triple threat" exercise). I should try the variation with the feet fixed and the body moving, never thought about that.
@HomeStrengthTraining Жыл бұрын
I like Nordic curls allot, I've done Swiss balk curls but don't have a Swiss ball. The hanging leg curl is awesome I do it one leg at a time then superset it with a hanging bridge. It I'd very grip intensive but u can use straps. I highly recommend them for home training
