Dude, thanks for making this! And do you have the part numbers for the front/rear rotors & the caliber bracket or are these by stop tech?
@SWSpeedCo Жыл бұрын
I dont have the part numbers. They are just stock legacy gt calipers and rotors that can be ordered from subaru or other places. I got my calipers used off the forums, and the rotors are just stick blanks

Hey, I know you posted that video 2 years ago but I ended on it while searching about brakes upgrades for my 2006 Legacy 2.0R. If I understand well, you don't have to replace anything else than the brackets, calipers, pads and rotors? I mean what about the handbrake shoes, they stay exactly the same?
@SWSpeedCo11 ай бұрын
That's right, the upgrade requires the legacy gt calipers, brackets, rotors, and pads but the hoses and emergency brake system is the same

just checked on my car and it looks like these are indeed the fronts of the GT and not the Spec b. as you stated. :) great videos appreciate what you're doin.

did you use outback specific brake lines? All I can find is legacy sedan brake lines, not sure if it matters.

Legacy brake lines work perfectly fine. Pretty much everything is interchangeable between the models

I must be all kinds of dizzy... .. your car is a turbo. it's looking like a LGT as it sits. Why didn't it come with LGT brake ? I'm guessing you're turning a Legacy into an LGT ? And what year LGT has these brake specs that you are installing? Maybe it was in the video and I didn't catch it.
@SWSpeedCo Жыл бұрын
It's an outback xt with coilovers so it's low like a legacy gt. Pretty much the same platform but for whatever reason the outback xt came with smaller brakes than the lgt with the same powertrain.

Is this swapping from single pot to 2 pot rears? I’m looking at doing the same and wondering if the caliper brackets share the same mounting points being different sizes
@SWSpeedCo2 жыл бұрын
I believe the mounting points are the same, this swap is just a larger 1 pot caliper but the force and contact patch give the same performance as the sti brembos
@NightHawk45222 жыл бұрын
Do you know what other calipers are the same as the LGT ones? Im curious if the tribeca front calipers work?
@SWSpeedCo2 жыл бұрын
Not 100% sure but I think the legacy gt is the only one with these calipers
@Mr_BUSINESS_24_7 Жыл бұрын
I researched brake upgrades for my '94 LGT on a first generation legacy group bbc central back in 2014. And the Tribeca front brakes fit first generation legacy and I've read these are the same from 1990 to 2014. So I'd say go for it. I sold my LGT before I installed my bbk still have my tribeca calipers on the bench. maybe I should install them on my '04 outback BH ??
@Mr_BUSINESS_24_7 Жыл бұрын
@@SWSpeedCo how thick is the LGT disc ? Tribeca front disc is 316 x 30. I believe the tribeca brake pad contact surface is bigger than LGT with a bigger caliper to accommodate the larger pad if my memory serves me correctly ?

That sounds about the same as the lgt brakes

What size of disk legacy GT? My OBK 2009 2,5 XT front have 290mm, rear about 270mm. It is to small for this car, not very efective brakes.

Why not spend a little more and get brembos?
@SWSpeedCo3 жыл бұрын
I only spent like $400 for calipers, rotors, pads, and lines. Brembos are like 800 for just calipers. Eventually I want to do a c6 z06 6 piston caliper in the front and wildwood 4 pistons rears but I don't have the money for that so this was just a quick easy upgrade for the time being.
