I am a member of a King James only church but I read (secretly) the LSB all the time! I really enjoy it👍 My pastor is a TR only believer, and he is a good man and pastor and I respect him so that I don't fuss in the church about translations.

You are wise to have kept it too yourself. When I was saved in 1990, long before the internet, I was in a church which wasn't KJV only but close to it, and our church associated with other churches/pastors who were KJV only. I began to read the NKJV, comparing it to the KJV. It took me a long time to trust another translation. What helped me was our church statement of faith, which we accept upon becoming members. It states that we believe the original manuscripts written by Moses, David, Paul etc were inspired. I respect that you honour your pastor headship and church's unity.

I just ordered both the two column and the reference bibles. The NASB pre 1995 edition with the Thees and thous was the one I was using. I used it for many years until I switched to ESV because that is what our church is using. I've always missed the NASB. I love what the LSB is done with the NASB and can't wait to get my hands on them.

I appreciate all the information and feel that the work done with the LSB is honorable and the quality of the Bibles excellent. I just purchased the Reference Bible with footnotes edition and am excited to own it. Not only that but I hope my Church would adopt it instead of the KJV that we currently use. However, it could cause a problem I suspect so I haven't even suggested it -due to reverence for Christ.

maybe because they didnt even get the name jacob right after their mission statement "The interpreter, teacher, and pastor have the goal of understanding what the text means, the translator is to provide them with what the text says. Consistently, the goal of this translation is to be a window into the original text. Within that goal, this revision has focused upon accuracy and consistency."

Interesting conversations. I think I'll be purchasing the prayer scripture book soon. I could use a little assistance in that area. Two editions I'd love to see become available at some point: First, an audio Bible. I love to listen to the audio of whatever Bible I'm reading. It helps me stay focused. Two, I'd love to see a nice reader's edition. A simple single-column paragraph format with no chapter/verse numbers, notes, references, etc... Just a nice clean text to sit down and read. Crossway made a really nice set as did Bibliotheca. I like them because I don't get distracted by the chapter/verse numbers and I tend to spend more time reading instead of setting arbitrary limits based on numbers of chapters/verses to read.

I’ve been using the LSB daily since November 2022. I’m currently using for a read the Bible in a year reading plan, but I also use more than that. I already have 3 hard copies. 😂 My brown Shamar Goatskin copy is a treasure to me. I’ve been utilizing the Scripture journals as well and I really find them useful for doing good exegesis and exposition. The consistency and concordance of the translation has assisted me in understanding numerous times where other translations did not. 1 Corinthians 2:10-14 is a great example. No other translation does what you guys do with “the depths of God” and it brings a lot of clarity to the text.

I would like to switch to the lsb translation but I feel like the design and marketing of the translation are a problem thus far. 1. Most of the Bible’s available are too big and lack footnotes or references. 2. Although the price you pay for what you receive as in quality is very reasonable, I’d prefer less cost even if it means lower quality paper and binding and more affordability. 3. Accessibility. The translation needs to be accessible at multiple retailers and currently this seems limited and this is a problem that compounds the cost and reluctance of new users. I’d most like to see a compact reference bible in the 8 point type set if possible or a Two column reference that’s thin and easy to carry and use. I know everyone has their preferences but I hope someone can use this feedback. I love the translation but I don’t feel like it’s in a format that would invite me to use it everyday because I have other bibles in translations that are just easier to carry to a bible study or to carry to work and read on a lunch break. Finally, I will say that my favorite bibles, the ones I find myself using more than the rest seem to be thin, paper with a rougher texture because the pages are easier to turn. My intention is not to criticize or attack the workman, I sincerely desire this translation to succeed, so I pray that my feedback as a singular consumer may be of some use to you. God bless.

Why have previous LSB editions prior to the ICR =not= included footnotes?? As the translators point here, they are integral to the translation.

I love the LSB but I have a few suggestions. Where do I make them? Also, my Korean made Goatskin ICR is NOT EVEN CLOSE to my ALLAN and other Goat Skin bibles. I still love the translation and recommend it to to others.

I only ask that “only begotten” be updated to “only” or “unique,” since they are the accurate translations of monogenēs. Aside from that, it's the best translation we have.

Add more variant readings, BYZ Text/TR (should have used the BYZ as the base text). More editions with the footnotes and but more literal readings in the actual text! It's annoying the same old mistranslations (burnt offering, grain tribute, atonement, world, etc) of the same words occur but hey, no translation is perfect. Not interested in hearing MacArthur's heretical dispensationalism in my bible either. Still my favorite translation- keep going!
@lawrencestanley8989 Жыл бұрын
Heretical Dispensationalism? Have you taken the time to read his book, "Christ's Prophetic Plans?" In it, he Biblically supports the position that he and so many others hold to.
@kylec8950 Жыл бұрын
@@lawrencestanley8989 No I have not and would never reduce myself to it. Dispensationalism, classic dispensationalism at least IS a heresy for it postpones Christ reign, divides God's people into two-instead of the one new man the Scripture's plainly teach. Teaches that God blesses Israel according to the flesh, even though they openly deny him- totally opposed to the Scriptures and other unbibically teachings.
