How long have you had yours for? I'm thinking about their Kryptek full dip rifle in .308. In general I have been liking what I have been seeing from Howa so far.
@aepceo16 жыл бұрын
I've had it for a few months now. Howa also makes the Weatherby Vanguard I think and that's just as good. You simply can't go wrong with something manufactured by Howa.

HOW ABOUT IT IN COMPARISON TO A TIKKA T3 WITH EQUAL SET-UP?
@OC_Lofton7 жыл бұрын
So glad to see that KRG is producing "The Bravo" chassis for more than the Tikka T3 and Remy 700 - as stated on KRG's website. I purchased a Howa Lighting with a #2 contour 22 inch barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor last year and I believe that the pillar bedded "Hogue-like" stock is the most limiting feature of the rifle. The AA1500 would have been my 'Go-to' stock but (Archangel/Promag) and/or (L.S.I-Howa) or both decided not offer the stock system with an aluminum bedding block system similar to what (Archangel/Promag) did for the AA700B stock for the Remington 700 short actions. I had also considered a Choate Tactical - adjustable that would have required an additional $200+ to get it to accept AICS mags. I will now wait for this. Also good to see L.S.I recognizing that consumers desire threaded muzzles and non-proprietary magazines on Long Range/Precision rifles without having to spend extra money at the local gunsmith.

That Howa Bravo looks very nice. Unfortunately, I just bought the previous Howa chassis rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor, but hey, it's nice too!

Liberty4Ever how do you like the chassis rifle?
@Liberty4Ever7 жыл бұрын
Ryder McGrath - The Howa chassis rifle is very nice. Build quality is good on the chassis and of course the Howa barreled action is excellent. Not my first of those! Based on what I saw on the video the Bravo looks even nicer, but isn't that always the way? You buy something nice and someone makes something even nicer?

Long time Howa shooter here. With that being said, the GRS stock is much more ergonomic with the 6 degree grip cant. My next rifle will be a Howa without question but the GRS Berserk bumped the KRG bravo off a very short list.

I would love to show up at a range with my 6.5 Dakota where people are shooting the little 6,5’s or any type of the old 6.5-300, and especially 338 Lapua’s. At 600 to 1000 yards the groups would be hilarious but the holes my cartridge can blow in steel that the mighty 338 Lapua can’t get through are attention getting.

Sweet. I like the looks better than the HCR. Wind was tough in that video. You did better than I could have. Just don't have much wind here in the South unless it is a storm passing through and I get out of the weather so no practice. Is that Nikko-Sterling scope going to be part of a package?

What scope and power? And what’s that other gadget in your hand?
@JamesReedy4 жыл бұрын
That’s a Kestrel likely with Applied Ballistics on it. He knows his range so you feed it that (link enabled will take it directly from a laser range finder) and it uses temp, humidity, and wind to give you your dope.
@thewoodboss56474 жыл бұрын
What type of scope and power do you have on that rifle and can you make a video on how to use a Kestrel ballistic. Nice shooting at 1000 yards.
@JamesReedy4 жыл бұрын
@@thewoodboss5647 that scope is some Nikko Sterling, they’re pretty inexpensive scopes for the most part. As for how to use a Kestrel, you can search KZbin for, “Kestrel Applied Ballistics”. That said I never saw him dope wind, when you shoot at really long ranges honestly wind is meh, what’s happening at the muzzle for speed and direction may have nothing to do with the wind down range. You can achieve what he was doing with a smart phone and Applied Ballistics or Ballistic AE. You need to know your muzzle velocity, projectile weight and drag model. You need to know temp, humidity, and barometric pressure and have a zero range say 100 yards. You need to know your height above the bore axis. Get all of these things and have a way to know how far targets are away and you’re good to go. Pick up a copy of Long Range Shooting Handbook by Ryan Cleckner and read it. Happy shooting...
