My take-: Once you become a parent with or without a job you have to work extremely hard and do whatever it takes to consistently provide for your child in the best way possible in the circumstances.

Suppose a woman walks into the life of a single dad and they cohabit say for a year. She becomes a mother figure to the guy's kids and takes care of them, then she decides to call it quits with the guy. Can the guy also go to court and sue her for absconding her responsibility and the children's mom.🤔
