The one thing that really disappointed me about Bayonetta 3 was the lack of Lumen sages. You really want to tell me that Bayo was always a witch and in no universe did she instead go the way of the Lumen alongside Balder? That would have been so awesome. Also, I have not finished it myself, but I'm pretty sure that that the child Bayonetta game does explain more about what Luka is and how fairies work in the universe.

@@aidans1028 to be completely transparent, yes the story is ass if you're never paying attention; 1 is understandable once you connect the dots, and with 2, the lore is only expanded from 1. the two games are literally a loop; a morbius strip that's never going to end until the main character does what she needs to do in 1 (which is also presented in 2) 3 is a new leaf; in the more literal sense, and having a new setup would be difficult and different... this would've been fine if you're basing this off on the Eyes of the World book that they release (there's one on every game) and sometimes, it's little to no difference between the released game from the concept art... but, like i said, the 3rd game really went far from what made the game. it's not the story that most people come for, it's the character who's built different from the rest and is someone who can DANCE through chaos and take control of what's happening. that's the same thing that was missing in this game, that main character isn't there. the badass witch is now a damsel in distress and is SAVED by a man(luka), which is just... it's good for any other game, but not this one

I don’t think I’ve ever had a love-hate relationship with a game quite like Bayonetta 3. Cuz on one hand, the combat is everything I could’ve ever wanted, and I feel like an absolute beast mowing down hoards of enemies with such a huge toolkit. But on the other, some enemies just have the weirdest telegraphing, the arenas are utterly massive to compensate for demon slave, meaning you get sniped off-screen a ton, and I’ve had many a pure platinum run screwed over from jank or just flat out bugs. And man, did they do my girl *dirty.* Bayo herself is a genuine comfort character, so it kinda hurts seeing how bad they handled her. I personally don't mind the narrative of Bayo3. The first Bayonetta set the ground for Bayo3 literally, Bayonetta during our play through gives young Cereza confidence through watching her "Mummy" be a badass. Then goes on to grow up in a slightly different yet similar timeline. The story has always had subtle Multiverse undertones since the start. As for Viola...she's goofy but I can see her growing into a strong woman much like the Bayo we already know. Young Cereza was a scared child...yet grew to be confident and snarky, with some seductive undertones to boot. Viola could do the same, and would challenge Bayonetta even further as Viola could bring more vibes than just seduction, maybe even being playful and clumsy yet somehow making it work to her advantage. In the end Bayonetta is all about confidence and using that confidence to overcome anything. This is obviously just my opinion. I feel like I liked Bayo3 a bit more than most because the concepts were tasteful, just need to be worked on and fine tuned to be truly divine

You forgot to mention one key thing about Bayonetta in Bayonetta 3, and thats that she is Brave Cereza from the first game. The game showed that Bayo 1 and 2 are different Bayonettas, as shoehorned in as it is, Bayo 2 and 1 just took similar paths, to each other. While i hate that they removed the whole thing that Bayo from 1 to 2 were the same, it would also explain how father balder, and the head of jubileus despite being obliterated by us in the destroy jubileus scene in bayo 1, was still alive and made it back to earth. In this alternate timeline, while extremely similar to Bayo 1, Events played out slightly different than they did in bayo 1. And i will say that i kinda like how they did that to explain the inconsistencies between 1 and 2 of certain elements, like balder and jubielus' head being on earth, especially since jubileus reverted to her statue form in bayo 1, so her head shouldnt of been the normal head of jubileus in the start of bayo 2. Thats also why Bayonetta in bayonetta 3 is a bit less bad ass. As it shows that Brave Cereza kept a bit of her innocence into her adulthood, which is why she is more elegant in her movements and less sexy, no matter how hard she tries to be sexy; referring to you "why dont you sit for mummy" god it was a bad delivery...but anyway, thats also why she is slightly helpless in certain scenarios as well since its a different cereza compared to the last two.

The reason why I hate bayonetta three is because of the whole multiverse concept. I really hated the multiverse thing because it essentially sets up every bayonetta game in the future to probably be taking place in a different universe. This means that it would be hard to feel attached to the character of bayonetta in general because you will be constantly exposed to different bayonetta’s whose personalities will all be different. As a result it’s difficult to feel connected and personal to any of them.

I'm willing to give Viola a chance, because to draw a parallel I never thought I could like Nero after his introduction in DMC4 and somehow he's a great character in DMC5, so anything is possible with new hack and slash protagonists. Bayonetta 3 had the BEST weapon selection of them all, The BEST ost of them all, and demon masquerade is a WONDERFUL addition, Demon slave was also fantastic combat mechanic, though perhaps it wasn't implemented that much well due to the limitations of the console, also the few outfits we get are MILES BETTER than the ridiculos half a dozen cheerleader, swimsuit half assed outfits from the previous games, the homonculi lack medium sized enemies but their south asian mythology aesthetic is fantasticly refreshing and on point with the religious/ mythological themes of the bayonetta universe despite being sci-fy enemies, and for once the main villain feels like an actual menace instead of the previous two "lets kill Hitler befor he starts second world war" scenarios from bayo 1 and 2. There, i said it. The game would have been greater with better graphics (which wasn't possible without the switch turning into a "chinese movil phone battery inside an elevator") and with a few more fights here and there around the huge levels, tweaking some of the demon playable section would have been great too. Was bayonetta 2 a better game? yes, without doubt, but was it a better BAYONETTA GAME? No, for the simply reason that whatever you could find in 2 was in the first game TOO , but most of the GOOD stuff in bayonetta 3 cannot be found in neither of her previous games. That someone could call him or herself a fan of the series and reject the third game with the hateful and almost childish spite i see in some comments has a name........MENTAL RETARDATION, and disgracefully platinum games seems to attract a lot of that shit. It's the Bayonetta curse, when the first game came out the haters were EVERYWHERE, then came the second game and suddenly EVERYBODY loved the first game and hated the second like it was aids in a bottle, then came the third and again the same story, bayonetta 2 "wuz the bweest evah!!!!". The game has flaws for God's sake, but let's not pretend it is testicular cancer.

I think I'm the only person on earth who only has minimal complaints about Bayonetta 3. Like one or two tweaks to the story and I'd probably say it was my favorite Bayonetta game. Though there are a ton of fun touches hidden in the first game, like hidden torture attacks that can only be done with a specific weapon+combo, and there's the added bonus of the hidden unlockable character of zero. His files are in the second game as well, but Rosa was used instead. To be fair to Viola, she's still learning. She's nowhere near the skill level of Jeanne or Bayonetta. Bayonetta was a grown woman before the witch hunts and has already fought against Jeanne before. She's also had more than 20 years after waking up from her 500 year power nap in the lake. Viola is still a teenager and will undoubtedly have time to grow and get better.

all of this can be ironed out if they actually started to produce their version from the eyes of the world book; literally ALL of this can be fixed... so much so it'll make the fanbase forget the base game if platinum really did their best to make this happen. imagine the fun and chaotic conversations from 3 bayonetta's and how would they compare their adventures ? that was what the fans really wanted more than the multiverse... in fact, it can be a cherry on top from all of this madness.

I personally loath Bayo3 because it feels like character assassination for no real reason. They took everything that we love about Bayo and throwed it into tho trash, for no real reason. All the Bayonettas, including playable Bayo, are utterly incompetent! It's crazy that Bayonetta dies in the most stupid way with a very easy attack that she could dodge but because it's a cutscene, the game demands her to be stupid. The worst part is that when the REAL Bayonettas appear (Bayo1/2) not only they saved the day but they talk, act and think like the real deal. This means that the writters knew who Bayonetta is and know how she is but chose not to do it because fuck you. The only moment that I felt like I was playing Bayonetta was those 5 minutes where we play as Bayo1/2. Otherwise, I felt from beggining to end that I was playing with a really bad impostor

She was designed by a feminist who probably didn't want a typical badass female lead who is all looks & no substance which is why Bayonetta is the way she is & that's what everyone loves about her. The franchise's swan song was the third game because of all of its bad points like the plot was badly written, the camera was a gigantic pain in the arse, the mechanics were clunky & the fanbase was pissed off when they saw that Bayonetta was straight instead of being a lesbian like they wanted.

Bayo 2 is great. Bayo 3 is... I hesitate to say bad. It's functional but un good Bayo herself is so stupid in 3. Why would she ever summon Gammorah after he broke free and attacked her and killed Jean. And the idea that Bayo would need to slave control Madame Butterfly is beyond absurd. "But they're different Bayos" yea and that was an idiotic narrative choice. Bayo 1-3s are supposed to be the the same character. Bayo 1-2 were till b3 happened Adding demons as a summon whenever was horrible. They're not fun to use while Bayo TikTok dances in the foreground. Too slow for the fast paced hack and slash gameplay experience you should be getting. And you can't just not use them because of how spongey enemy health bars are. It also ruins combat in the spectacle. Summoning a demon to finish off an enemy made their appearance special. Now that they can drop in whenever the fuck means there's no hype or excitement to summoning one to finish a fight. Like you've been doing that all the time why does now need a special scene. Stupid No combat customization. You don't get to mix and match weapons to make combat how you want and that's bullshit It just feels so bad to play compared to how smooth and fun 2 was out the gate Bayo 3 is also so overdesigned she looks horrible. 1 and 2 were simple and elegant in their designs. 2 has the better design, her hair not connected to her clothes. I know that's the point and whatever but it still just looks better. 3 the hair the skirt the accessories the bow the claws. It's too much and gaudy which Bayo shouldn't be. She's a classy lady who says fuck The ending, bad. The whole story is bad but the ending is especially terrible, like my god. It's insulting
@rutyqutykandi13613 ай бұрын
Even as a spectator I thought the combat was extremely slow. Also I feel like Bayo 3s design could have been made better if they just removed what I find to be two major design flaws. The skirt, and having the red ribbon. The red is far to over powering too the point that the purple clashes badly. Topped with skirt its downright childish. And while Bayo has always had childlike costume options it was always understood that she is being goofy. When its permanently her outfit its just awkward.
@nathanalves32843 ай бұрын
You clearly didn't pay attention to the story because the Bayonetta from the third game is NOT the same Bayonetta from the second game, that's literally the point of the multiverse and even if she was it still wouldn't make sense to stop summoning him, Gomorrah only escaped from her control because of the imbalance that Aesir caused and Jeanne herself summons Gomorrah again at the end of the second game so definitely neither of them are afraid of using him again and she's also not using the demon slave to force Madame Butterfly to fight this is obvious in several moments like when she's on Madame Butterfly's shoulder and she's fine or when she uses the sim ritual on her and she's clearly having fun, the only reason she uses the demon slave on her here is for gameplay reasons and regarding the battle customization here there is much more variety and depth with the demons being able to merge their attacks with your own combo at the same time so whoever says that the third game is "slow" just doesn't know use the game mechanics properly just search for videos on the KZbin and you will see that of the three games this is probably one of the fastest remembering that all this is on the Switch so it is already a miracle that the game works almost perfectly and you speak well of the gameplay of the second combat but it is the worst of the three, the combat of the second game is limited to Umbra climax that encourages button smashing and nothing else which takes away a lot of the part of actually creating combos and new combinations making the gameplay much shallower and simpler even compared to the first game, not to mention the bosses of the second game like Balder who is practically untouchable outside of Witch Time which did not happen in the first game where Jeanne and Balder were perfectly punishable outside of Witch Time so I think that most of your impression of Bayonetta 3 actually came from listening to what other people said and not actually playing the three games and drawing your own conclusion
@LuminousArc923 ай бұрын
@@nathanalves3284 mmkay ignoring how I said it being a multiverse plot was idiotic as a decision? Love your reading ability :) gameplay and story inform one another. So her needing to use demon slave on Madame Butterfly in gameplay means she has to use it in narrative because one is tied to the other. Yknow, that thing games do ok so B3 didn't experience the Gammorah fuckup from 2 she still encountered the Gammorah that needed to be slave controlled in 3, who wouldn't obey her. And she summons him at the end, loses her slave control, and he kills her. Aka Bayo 3 is made an idiot, as I said. Pay attention, bub it is slow. The hammer, the button imputs on the demons. It's slow compared to Bayo. She feels best to use when it's fast. That thing Platinum Games does best, but you can't properly use her because of the big sponge enemies that drag out fights unless you summon in your demons sweaty I played 3, it's nowhere as fun. It doesn't feel good to play. Hence why I said it doesn't feel good to play. Shocking isn't it? Someone can form their opinion based on their experiences with the games they experience. WOW amazing if you think 2 is the worst combat of the 3 that's exclusively a you issue because it's not. Its fun and b3 isn't and that's just how it is
@nathanalves32843 ай бұрын
@@LuminousArc92 being passive aggressive doesn't make you smart and everything you said is literally an opinion so I'll repeat it once more, demon slave doesn't slow you down at all you can literally attack while the demons are making their moves you just don't know how to do it and the second game having the worst gameplay of the three games is a fact just pay attention to how Bayonetta's gameplay works, the second game has the shortest witch time of the three, it has umbra climax which is visually beautiful but takes away most of the depth of the combos and gameplay mainly because the normal attacks and wicked weaves practically don't really give you any real damage which doesn't happen in either the first or the third game, most of the humanoid bosses are untouchable outside of witch time which forces you to spam dodge just to be able to damage them which takes away even more depth from the gameplay and also ends up being excessively easier than the other two, now about madama butterfly and the demon slave apparently you forgot but the common method of summoning also restricts and forces the demons this is literally the point of them being kept wrapped in the witch's hair who summons them because if they are released for even a second they will definitely try to kill the witch who summoned them. So by your logic, Bayonetta has supposedly been restraining and forcing Madame Butterfly since forever, which we know is not true. And you also don't seem to have read what the first game says about Gomorrah. He has always been a violent and uncontrollable demon. His point is precisely that he will rebel at any chance. Bayonetta always knew this, and him resisting or rebelling was no surprise. So it's obvious that she wouldn't stop summoning him because he tried to rebel. Otherwise, she would never have summoned him or any other demon besides Madame Butterfly to begin with.

@@nathanalves3284 ah delicious irony buddy I'm just returning your attitude back at you, so don't complain when you started it k? Don't throw a tantrum at me for your poor life choices what *you* are saying is an opinion. Berating me for not sharing your wrong opinion doesn't make you right or smart :) "by my own logic"? It's by the games own logic that Bayo3 needs to slave control Madame Butterfly which makes no sense given the connection she has with Bayo Again proving bayo3 is an idiot. Prologue she had no control of Gammorah. He wasn't summoned bound in hair. So she controls him slave style. Summons him in the finale, unbound, uncontrolled, kills her. You prove my points here. Bayo2 said "I'm not one for pets who don't listen to their masters" B3 has the same personality even if she's a different Bayo (again an idiotic story choice since B1 and B2 were direct sequels and not multiverse. Retroactively trying to change the narrative doesn't work here). He didn't listen in the prologue so why would she summon and use him again? Definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result if you think 2 has the worst gameplay I think that's just you being bad at the game sweaty cause no it's way better than 3. Actually getting to customize your loadout of weapons combined. Umbran Climax is a great added mechanic on the note of wicked weaves 3 doesn't even make sense by its own logic. In B3 why can she use wicked weaves? When a combo goes off she goes demon masquerade form where she fuses with the demon but somehow can also use wicked weaves? It's inconsistent since the demon isn't present for a weave to be done. So why? Just because it's expected? Demon Masquerade is why they can't do the customization of weapons where you want to put them which makes it a bad mechanic. And doesn't even make sense narratively but all of B3's narrative is a hot mess. Tokyo B does just fine against the enemies in gameplay but then the same dudes she's been wreaking kill her because... well it's a cutscene so that excuses lazy bad writing apparently
