Matt Le Tissier is definitely a Premier League legend. He's in the English football hall of fame ffs. If Bale's in the discussion, Matt scored a lot more goals than Bale and much better goals at that. Some of the best goals ever scored in the league in fact. The only midfielders to score more PL goals than him are Lampard, Gerrard, Giggs and Scholes (Matt Le Tissier was already 23 and 50 goals into his career when the PL started). Almost single handedly kept his club in the Premier League through the 90's. Xavi's inspiration growing up too. If one of the greatest players of all time considers him an idol, that tells you all you need to know.

The conversation about Matt Lee Tissier was embarrassing on Andy and Darren's side... The caller says it's an achievement for a midfielder to score over 100 goals, and they hit back with Lampard, Scholes, Giggs, Gerrard... All played for top teams winning or challenging for the title, supplied by and playing with some of the world's top players. Le Tis played for a bottom half team alongside the likes of Jason Dodds and Franny Banali, who with respect were great pros but hardly on the scale of Suarez, Owen, Keane, Drogba, etc... who the others would have played with., so the comparison is non existent. The others were part of a team, whereas Le Tissier WAS his team, and his 100+ goals were a far bigger achievement and for Andy and Darren not to acknowledge or understand this shows a complete lack of understanding and big club arrogance.

Vardy is without a doubt a legend, not only his own story of starting his professional career in his late 20s and then the fairy tale of Leicester winning but he also holds the record for most consecutive goals scored ever, won golden boot and has a few other accolades all while playing for Leicester. Then add in his personality and goal celebrations and interaction with opposition fans, he’s definitely a legend.

Six seasons from 92/93 onwards le tissier got 91 goals in just over 210 games for a team fighting relegation, many of them absolutely ridiculous.
