Glad to say our company back in the day owned a D9G with a 16-foot U dozer, with a single shank ripper. We called it old "snaggle tooth."

I remember watching, 1969, a d9 push block cable set up pushing 621 scrapers. When the scraper would get snagged on a bolder the d9 operator just lifted way up the back of the scraper n they just kept going. Then the even better part. The d9 came back dropped that push block blade a down it went to root out that big potato.... sometimes it took several tries and the sound of that diesel was just better than music (still is).

Just like farming, there are some that can plant row so straight one would think they used GPS. The generation using a transit and a shot sight telling the operator another inch, well that's what I call an operator. @@regconrad7783
@maxjones913911 ай бұрын
@@danemoore2302oh yeah! It does the adjusting for the operator. Next time you’re around modern machines check out above the hydraulic cylinders that lift the blade there’s gps devices. You can see them on road graters too and I’m sure many other machines.

Sweet, add 4 barrel ripper, couple shanks and full U blade, excellent machine. I went from G&H to an 8t, didn't know how to start it! 😂😂😂

Worked with a couple of 9’s in the early 80’s . One had a pushen cushion blade for the 6 fleet of 631 open bowls. Worked 2 years moving dirt 1/2 mile for overpass approach’s . Both 9’s had ponies. Start time was 4:30am in the winter for the 7am start for the operators. Loved that bridge job.

I started out on an old surplus cable rigged D6 we used to clear land and take out tree stumps with on our ranch. It had a pony motor instead of a starter motor, it was a bitch to start! 💪👊🇺🇸
