@@SimoLInk1698 They do not. Orc warbosses are definitely tankier and hit harder than the goblin bosses but they lose out on all the buffs and synergies that the NG warbosses provide. For instance the 'drippin tips' buff would have given all the skulkers and archers poison damage and as mentioned the +15 melee atk bonuses for all goblins units is huge.

Zhuge Liang made it seem like he was awaiting Sima Yi, inviting him to attack, which made Sima Yi think that Zhuge Liang had something planned that could defeat him. So he simply retreated before a battle began. And also, another theory, Sima Yi might have been fully aware of Zhuge Liang's bluff and retreated not because he feared he might lose, but that he might win, capture Zhuge Liang and have him killed by an order from his superior. Because Sima Yi knew that Zhuge Liang was basically the only REAL threat to Wei at this point and he knew that with Zhuge Liang gone his importance at the court might have decreased. So he just left so he could stay relevant.

Speaking of confusing the ai, i somehow got them to change formation with gor’rok moving side to side and kept changing them till they made 1 big blob, i had kroak hide in a forest not far and cast deliverance 3 on the blob, best feeling i had of cheesing ai.

If you manage to bully the fuck out of your neighbors and get a lot of chevrons on your gobbos it can be a really fun campaign. Just watch thousands of green mean midgets shredding the forces of chaos, it's amazing.

I have recently installed steel faith so, everything currently feels fresh to me, but i still have hopes for the greenskins to become even more interesting.

With the buffs to your gobbos, your nasty skulkers can go as high as 64 melee attack. They shred Lord's and heroes because they fully surround them. I love them with all my heart.

The first time I played total war Warhammer was with Skarsnik, in fact I bought the game solely to play as goblins because I was annoyed at some of the classic units like wolf riders disappearing from the tabletop. It was not only my first go of total war Warhammer but my first ever go of a total war game, the first 2 playthroughs I abandoned it but the 3rd went much better. I won my third playthrough with Skarsnik using only goblins because I am a Warhammer fan first and a total war fan second, I was determined to use only goblins and things you would find in a gobbling army on the table top(squigs/trolls/giants/spiders). With the right army composition and tactics not to mention a lord who is heavily buffing the army, you can destroy even the heavily armoured dwarves without too much bother. After this introduction to total war and total war Warhammer ive got to admit a lot of factions feel too easy now lol. Anyway I highly do recommend going full gobbo, you just have to do it right.

Completely unrelated but they need to fix the confederation situation. I'm playing a game as Ikit where the Empire had 38 settlements on turn 65. Wtf? All games get bugged down fighting the same battles every other turn either against the Red or Blue wave. Yes, you can beat them, but where's the fun in doing the same battle over and over again?

It's worse when playing as the legendary assassin, and survive 100 turns and by assassinating both the leaders you effectively win the game because none of the other factions are anywhere near as problematic. Having a win the game button isn't good gameplay.

Talking about doing something completely stupid when you have no chance of winning: I don't remember the place or the army, but I read about a story when some fortress was under attack and there was no hope in hell of winning by defending. It was like having 5 garrison units vs a full doom stack of dwarves. It was unwinnable. So the commander decided to use full weapon grade cheese: he opened the gates, sat on top of the walls and played the flute, or an instrument by himself. This massively confused the enemies to the point where they expected a trap and decided not to attack.

Pretty sure that was Zhuge Liang playing a 'flute' but it's a fictional version of a real-life trap set by Cao Cao where he tricked the enemy into thinking his 'empty' garrison was somewhere waiting in ambush. By the time they realised their mistake and attacked, Cao Cao's army had returned and really was waiting in ambush to wipe them out. I'm sure a 3K player will be along shortly to go into more detail.

In the Three Kingdoms (the book) there is a moment where Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei's super smart General/Strategist/Diplomat/Wizard are left in a little town, having sent Liu Bei and the whole army away for some reason, and SUDDENLY Cao Cao comes with his entire army. Zhuge Liang knows he just screwed up, has piss nothing to defend with, and there is NO way he can hold until Liu Bei comes back, so he throws open the gates, and sits on the wall playing chinese violin or something. Cao Cao's generals are like "Sweet, free settlement, there is no defending army" but Cao Cao goes "Listen here, you little shits, I aint marching my entire army into an obvious trap, Zhuge Liang won't trick me again!" and then he just takes his army, does 180, and zogs off. Epic moment. And if that wasnt the cheeze, I don't know what is.

tip for catching routing units, send some of your troop to the edge of the map where the routing enemy will go and stack the really tight. only attack move when hes in the thick of it. that can catch them, no always tho

I had a wood elf campaign where a rebel army spawned and immediate went to take an outpost, and I had to use 2 Deepwood Scouts and 3 Dryads to pick apart and butcher a half stack of shielded state troops. Cheese is key.

Gobbo Noob tip to those that don't get it: So many people afraid to give a health # of Gobbo spears to an army. Mine always has 4-6 in each stack. They hold the line better than the other gobbo units with their higher armor + shield so your Nasty Skulkers can cut them open like a can opener from behind. This is really what the Nastys are made for, not taking the brunt of the charge. Honestly 4 gobbo archers is all you need. Learn to focus fire on each individual archer unit and take them out one by one, THEN focus on the infantry. Dwarven Missile troops are some of the most devastating in the game. Their infantry is some of the best but they are more defensive than offensive save for Slayers.

I'd say skulkers with sneaky stabbin (imbues magic, right?) would be better for taking out ethereal heroes *if* they can get in position. Gobbos are freaking amazing, just have to be good like lotw to use them! and yeah, a gobbo warboss for buffs and a gobbo spiderlad with magic dmg for snacking on grudging ghost gnomes. I'd say optimal would have been clearing up a flank using nasties and getting them into sneaky stabbing because the heroes are unbreakable but I generally don't see them do a whole lot

The answer is Obviously strat running in circles and somehow it will work. Alexander the great was in this situation and you can tell how desperate he was to do something that stupid. Enemy was impressed with Macedonian discipline, panicked and left the hills.
