I think the sign said "Paint it over" rather than "ain't it over", but maybe it could be interpreted both ways. I think the first one makes more sense considering the imagery of the letters actually being covered up or faded. And then Switch had to cover up the tunnel when she exited it, so it seems like a coded instruction.

david had it rough, his "friends" broke him out just to want to kill him eventually. before tht mind erase thing he did to syd he was completely a victim. Maybe that was faroke's plan, convince syd to turn on him, knowing he'd find a way out of the situation, knowing the only way he could get things back on track was to erase syds mind. so that when he got locked up he'd give her , her memory back and turn all of division on david. He made david leave the kitty table by force.

Unlike David whose distorted perception of reality is likely caused in large part by literally having a monster in his mind for the first 30+ years of his life, Syd's disassociation with reality comes primarily from a refusal to see her own faults. She keeps talking about how she doesn't get to feel like her body is her own, but her power is exactly the ability to do that same thing to others, and she would always have the upper hand because she knows what will happen if she makes contact. The people who she had fucked with through the use of her powers never had any idea that someone else was going to inhabit their bodies and make them do things while they were unaware of what was happening. Syd is the one who takes other people's autonomy from them, not the other way around; even though when you listen to her, it seems as if her participation in that dynamic is nonexistant.

How can Syd have a moment of serious reflection of the incident involving her mother's boyfriend and not mention that he was sent away to prison and was probably labeled a sex offender as a result of her actions? The writers want so badly for Syd to be viewed in a sympathetic light, that they ignore very relevant facts about her past because they contradict how they want her to be viewed by the audience. And in the same way, the writers have tried so hard to make David unlikeleable this season, that they've ignored established aspects of his personality. Mainly they've ignored that he is actually quite self aware at times for someone with mental illness. He even has had discussions with different aspects of his mind where he's debated and argued with himself. Now he's portrayed as a temperamental child who lacks emotional control and is completely self centered. Basically, these characters seemed more complex before. Now they've been reduced to stereotypes.

I think they're trying to mislead us and make us think it's a black and white conflict like you're saying, despite the fact that it's clearly not. I'd hold out hope, man-- remember what they said in that weird cop scene from another show, he's not a good cop or a bad cop, he's just a different kind of cop.

I think they were trying to reframe Syd's past experience through the eyes of her as an actual child, instead of through the eyes of her explaining her trauma to someone else. And also with the manipulation by David, the memory seems to be recontextualized. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, as an experience like that /would/ be traumatizing, surely. As for David, yeah he seems to be lacking the depth he had. Hopefully we'll get to see him actually think through his actions like we have in the past. He seems all impulse this season... :/

You are right.. I hope, however, that the writers will not go for the easy way of good vs bad and instead put the responsibility of what is happening in everybody's shoulders... For example, David looked for a time traveler because the D3 is hunting him, after trying to blame him for things that he hasn't done yet... Now, regarding the characters depth.. well, it's the last season, I don't think they will be deeper in them...

He’s blending the lines with that because he really doesn’t see himself as doing bad but he does have bad tendencies. That’s what they wanted him to turn into I don’t see it as bad character but as they wanted him portrayed.

@Sharan Mudda Agents of Shield was a cliche action show with little to no real plot coherence, Coulson being the only good thing about the whole show. And when you get things like that, you at least expect good special effects to offset it a little. But nope, cheap shit production values, as well. Legion is a complex psychological sci-fi thriller that uses metaphor and meta language in general to tell its story and uses simple camera effects to produce the most amazing results. Comparing them is literally like comparing vomit to gold. Well, OK, you can eat vomit but you can't eat - or at least digest - gold, but eating food decorated in gold leaf, albeit making 0 effect nutrition wise (or otherwise), at least makes the food look beautiful and is not a torture, which cannot be said for vomit.

you know what. i'm thinking about how this tv series can be such a creative thing. the way the legion team does all this, how they award their audience for being so observant, this kind of interaction between the creators and the viewers when both sides are thankful to each other for literally everything. like we are happy to see the details in shooting, scenario, music and the team is happy to give us it. i love how they give us the chance to think over so many questions, not just stare at the screen. this show is the best one for me, i'm gonna miss it so much

I think the sign said "Paint it over" rather than "ain't it over", but maybe it could be interpreted both ways. I think the first one makes more sense considering the imagery of the letters actually being covered up or faded. And then Switch had to cover up the tunnel when she exited it, so it seems like a coded instruction.

The title sequence reminds me of Weeds. There's a sense of self-awareness of being a show that creates certain kind of distance. It does not alienate, but instead acts as a reminder that we, the audience, are witnesses to this spectacle, happening in a radically different world where anything seems to be possible, but are still limited by the constraints of life.

I have a theory. You know how when you take a photo it represents a moment in time. What if the postcard where the shadow king is hiding from the time monsters. Its almost inaccessible from them because they cant change anything in a photograph or postcard. Therefore its easier to see them when they are around.

When David does his 10 armed incineration he takes the pose of the Goddess Durga. Durga is a protective mother godess. She cares for her children and slays demons that would harm them. When she battles, she does so with a look of calm serenity. It's very telling of David's mind state he views himself as such. He tells them he'll kill them in a mix of rage and pleasure from having vanquished a demon. He sends all his "children" away and has no idea where they went, if they even went anywhere. He's not Durga at all.

Am I the only one to be excited David destroying the world basically on accident gives hope to him being the good guy (or Thanos like), no I did not read the comics, but I think this FX Legion could put a twist on things bc they will piss off the purists either way.
