It looks like a Becker Conversion. They put a bulkhead behind the front seats, usually with a lower-able TV facing to the rear, and a narrow bench or folding jump seats on the rear of the bulkhead.

There were not many 6.0 Tahoe models made. I'm not sure if there were any, actually. Look for a mechanically sound truck, the interior on these can be refreshed without murdering your budget.

The front bump stops are missing, they're an important component to the front suspension. I just found out bc I have a 2003 denali that had crazy worn out ones that I just replaced. But yours are completely missing!!

I've been under my truck so many times I can draw a picture from memory. GM designed the suspension to include the bump stops to keep the suspension from bottoming out and to help control body roll over bumps

The torsion bars could be turned down. My Yukon was lowered with spindles and turned down torsion bars and I was about 4-4.5" of drop before I did Viking coilovers. I don't have bumpstops on mine because it's about 5" now in the front and 6" in the rear.

Yep, these 2WD big trucks are pretty rare up north. I drove one once, and it was much faster than a 4WD counterpart. Much, much faster. Well, the drive line being simpler, there's a lot less parasitic losses, and I would guess the fuel economy would also be much better (if you wouldn't floor it all the time like I did the only time I drove one). But, I wouldn't want to drive one during winter time, on packed snowy and icy roads... Hey, that could be something you could do, compare a stock 4WD Suburban and a 2WD on a dyno. Just a thought.

Best of both worlds. I love that thing man!! I would have bought it in a hart beat for that price! I have the Yukon Denali XL in that same body style and I cant believe how reliable it is. It’s my family hauler and tow vehicle. Personally the body style never aged for me, I still love it! Here in California they sell for super cheap! I work at an auto auction and I see them go anywhere from 1K to 3K in lane. Call me dumb but I have more then 8k just in upgrades in mine so it’s painful to watch them sell so cheap lol. This vehicle was definitely customized for the passengers, not for the driver. As others have noted, there was probably a privacy divider behind the rear seats. Also, the point of deleting the middle row and keeping the rear position is that they could be driven around in a fairly stealth vehicle and even with all four windows rolled down, the passengers' faces wouldn't be directly visible from the outside. This way, the player could be driven around and dropped off at back doors of clubs, bars, and restaurants with nobody seeing him until he actually left the vehicle. I saw another video on a similar vehicle made for Tom Brady or someone where they actually stretched the entire frame and body to make the second door larger. That vehicle had a raised roof and seated 4 using two rear facing "jump" seats on the bulkhead.

No, 4l80 has different ratios in the trans. He will want a 4l65, or I am currently building my 4l60. You can put 4l65 planetary and input shaft into the 4l60 then add "the beast" to handle over 600.

Jerris Long That is incorrect. The 4L60E that is inside this Tahoe is all electronic. No speedo cables, as the gauge cluster is also electronic. It’s also a common problem with these Tahoe ‘s, the stepper motor in the gauge cluster that drives the speedometer go bad.

Nice! In 97/98 I use to drive a stock 4wd Suburban for work at Whistler Mountain Ski Resort. I loved it. It was a 6 litre model and when you floored it on the highway, you could see the fuel gauge move. From memory it was around 110litre tank and never got above 300kms out of it but it was mostly in snow or idling for the heater. In Australia that would be $160 to fill. But I still want one!

Things running super rich, also it looks like some things have been removed from the interior and the exhaust. You better look it over really good, i suspect shenanigans besides a blown transmission.

Saw that it will get a built transmission. I hope the base is a 4L80E, although it would be fun to go for a 6L80E swap. If the supercharger doesn't have an intercooler, the way it's made could allow for piping an intercooler. Get the tune for the engine. With some other tweaks and maintenance, you could end with a winner.

Can't imagine a 2wd in some of the greeeesy roads and conditions we got just in eastern Canada, my rwd charger with the 5.7l Hemi does not like it, then again, i love it some times. It really helps me deicide what brand tires id like to put on my familys cars, as my car really tests their limits. Bought some, brand new not re treads winters and man what a pile of junk, from brand new they just spun out on nice road conditions. Had to hammer down and spin the whole way out of works parking lot (like 15 degree incline).
