It does. No rocket science there. He just wanted more show(blower whine) than go, that's all.
@TwentytenS4B84 жыл бұрын
Factory air box draws air from behind the grille so you're correct in that it taps into lower IAT's. There's a reason that the factory who spent millions of dollars on R and D placed it there. Positioning the air filter in the fender behind the fender liner yields similar results.
@ShizawnSanders4 жыл бұрын
This. He basically made a HOT air intake which is no Bueno.
@AB-80X3 жыл бұрын
@@ShizawnSanders What most fail to realize is that the most important thing is fuel temp. Yes hot air does make a difference, but it's small. Now hot fuel on the other hand, that really kills power. Aside from that, a bigger radiator as that would lower combustion chamber temps, which are just as bad as hot fuel temps.

I think swapped injector plugs don't affect power too much. There is constant fuel injection systems (like bosch k-jetronic) or system where half or all cylinder injectors are firing at once (semi sequential or full-group). Port injection angle is mostly tuner for fuel economy and for that reason fuel is injected on closed valve for more time fuel can vaporize.

As far as your brakes issue, I found that with my 99 silverado I've had for the last 11 years the brake fluid being flushed out and slapping new hoses on it really helped. I know I'm not carrying the bed weight of your truck but, I can light them up on dry ground with no boost (truck has 266,000 on it now). The brakes hold tough. In a previous video you mentioned 2wd trucks in the Midwest... I bought mine in the south to bring home. It's been in metro Detroit its whole life with me and only 2wd (bought with the Z82 towing package, same coolers you have on your suburban). She hauls every bit of her 8200 lb limit....and then some (sh). The winter time brought me some concerns so here's what works: Changed the rear end out for true trac locker. No one wheel race car problems, and it won't spin the tire on a patch of ice for 2 traffic light cycles and people behind you get super mad. Don't ask. Tires: dueler at revos by Bridgestone, bfgoodrich AT TAs. Both have been great. My Michelin set now is a solid OK ish. A few pound in the tail end never hurt, but I got lazy and quit doing it. Having a 2wd 1500 with no factory traction control has never got me stuck in a Michigan winter and I'm happy with it overall. Great for towing and also still usable year round. Feather the throttle when the snow fights but she will move nicely.
