LEGO City Update | Platform Coverings & Ideas

Today we work on the custom modules for the raised platform. We create two different prototypes, one is a rock cliff edge, and the other is a cement wall. Both styles will be used in the LEGO city to cover up the raised platform and to create the small roadway in front of the modular buildings.

BRICKSIE! If I may add a small suggestion. That first mountain piece you have there on the left side of the raised platform. Might I suggest putting a few black nets over the rough mountain builds, as if there was any rough mountain builds anywhere near a real city, they would have that metal mesh over it to protect from falling rocks free falling and harming people or cars or buildings. Just a thought since it looks as if those rocks could rock-slide and hurt Minifigs, cars, or buildings. Gotta protect your citizens Bricksie!!! -In2Madness

I think this layout is so cohesive as a City, it works really well and is planned out perfectly. I love that there are endless possibilities too, it just gets better and better with each update.

It would be cool to have the Disney castle at the top of the platform and there are stairs that lead into the theme park from it. Very similar to its current platform you created but it would take advantage of the higher table.

The city is looking so good. I like the concrete wall! Maybe some vines going down, or cracks in the wall using slopes interlocked. Sewers. Maybe Batcave entrance....so many possibilities!!

When you create your mountain facade you should add a little Grand Budapest Hotel It would be super cute. Everything looks so cool. The slopes make such a difference. I am looking forward to the cliff edge for the temple.

You should consider converting the multicolor column to a skyscraper. You can also use some mirrors behind the dead end streets under the platform.

I think you should extend the amument park up in the upper level of the city. Maybe put the ferris wheel op there and a big roller coaster that just goes down. A slash ride would also be cool.

The empty space for skycrapers could be a construction zone right now. Would look pretty cool with all the yellow and gray and the construction worker characters

I think it is a good idea to stick with the original train track-setup. There shouldn't be any problems with the area between the train track being a little lower than the rest as it will be the same height as the tracks. If you decide later that it will be a problem for the people using the sidewalk, then you could add a few pedestrian bridges so they can walk over the tracks that way. Your future plans sound exiting. Looking forward to see the progress on the facades and the raised area.

Idk if you have any room for a roundabout or a fork in the road, but it would be kinda neat. If you can fit a power source in a Lego car it might be possible to have it do a continuous circle around the roundabout too

Some fabulous ideas here for transitioning from one level to the next of your city. Love the idea of the rocks/mountains and waterfalls, hiking trails, gondola bringing it all together. Can't wait to see how this develops.

You can do the wall with the arches at the entrance of the tunnel with the First one or two arches open so you can see the train going into the tunnel and After that the fully rock wall

This looks awesome, 👌 I like it much better then Mr Buddyboo's. Gotta be honest something about his I am not a fan of as nice as it does look, I think because of that at first I was a bit skeptical. But I really like the look of this, and I really like the mountain idea that has an outcrop for the temple. It's a never ending part issue lol, with a huge collection like yours I can't imagine what it would be like trying to accommodate all the parts had you for some reason had to part everything out.

Hi! I like your rock panel. Good idea tó create some kind of a waterfall, I would put it into the mountain area, leading into the water around Ninjago. I also like the idea of more skyscrapers in the far corner, but I would make an L shape there of the raised platform, in order to get more depth of the skyscrapers, not just a row of them.

I feel like home alone house is really out of place with the lego city because of all of the snow, I feel like if the roof and back yard was a different colour it would fit in a lot better

The cliff looks great and building it the whole way across for things has potential. I'd say if LEGO makes the classic white picket fence pieces, make an entire fence hiding the MILS plates at the train tracks but the idea you suggested to cover it also works too. Keep it consistent with half baseplates as you said it's easier to pick up & remove if necessary. Have an awesome Friday and happy building Bricksie. Idk about a picket fence piece, but if you put a white 1x1 cheese slope on top of a 1x1 white brick it would look like a single painted picket. Place a bunch side by side and you've got a fence
