Just change the gear of the M-motor and it will make the 9396 helicopter work much faster: replace the original white gear with a medium one and do the same with the smallest gear connected to the M-motor directly. Medium=16 teeth The blades rotation speed will be much faster that that of a DIY motor shown here

this is really wonderful..I know I could adapt it to my concept...but how do i make it so I can adjust the speed of my barrel? I liked though.I need my barrel to turn all 7 speeds. But I don't use legos. Respectfully, Margo

If you used a motor with high enough Kv rating, do you think you could get that LEGO copter to fly? Even if only a foot or two in the air? Or, would the torque of the motor kill the plastic gears?
@type1break8 жыл бұрын
it is waayyyy to weak to ever do that
@lorezyra8 жыл бұрын
+Stan Fredrikze What exactly is "waayyyy to weak?" The ABS plastic or the motor? As I implied above, if you had a (NON-LEGO) motor with a high enough Kv rating, could you get a brick copter to fly?

LoreZyra's Asian Clicks someone made an rc helicopter that flew from this set
@lorezyra7 жыл бұрын
Randomthing1222 Yes, but not with LEGO motors. You can get LEGO to fly using the same motors used in camera drones.

Could you create a video explaining how to make the custom connection wire please. Thanks
@TechnicRobot10 жыл бұрын
Sean Montebello hi, thanks for your suggestion. currently only has a connection diagram at 0:08. you can search on google to find which pin is C1 and C2 of Power Functions cable.

I noticed you didn't use the white clutch gear with your motor why is that. Thanks
@TechnicRobot10 жыл бұрын
Samuel Reed seems the torque reduced and not smooth when running, so i removed the white clutch gear.

How much torque can it make with a 3:1 gear reduction?
@TechnicRobot9 жыл бұрын
jds7777's creations sorry not measured, but i think the torque can be close to Power Functions L-Motor

U should try this with a LIPO on a 6 cell battery I think is about 12v idk
@Harveytsj19 жыл бұрын
+The_Trojan Horse_Is (Aggressive) a 3 Cell LiPo battery is 12v. A 6 Cell (6s) LiPo is 24v and would burn out the motor

How any RPM do this motor provide?
@TechnicRobot10 жыл бұрын
part number of the motor is RF-370C XTL-13470, the spec say 9V no load around 4000 rpm, i will measure it by myself later :)
@TechnicRobot10 жыл бұрын
I have tested the DIY-Motor no-load with 9:1 Gearbox around 363 rpm, with 3:1 Gearbox around 1046 rpm: LEGO Motor Speed Meter by NXT and RCX Rotation Sensor

What is 9:1 gearbox?
@TechnicRobot9 жыл бұрын
Thadtheb Boonnaum The LEGO gearbox used to reduce the motor speed but increase the torque, most Power Functions Motor with similiar gearing down gearbox internally to increase the torque.

inside the motor its an planatery drive reduction.
