The music in this video made me imagine I was marching through a magical forest with a band of elves, gathering ingredients for a magic potion that we'd take back to our magic elf home, where a great and powerful wizard would brew it, and then we'd eat magic elf cookies and spend the rest of the evening dancing and playing and having a wonderful time. I can't comment on the video because I was too busy thinking about this to pay any attention.

Very nice work! I would ask you how to do a steering motor: should i need a stepper motor or a DC one could work as well? Ty
@ag63717 жыл бұрын
Use LEGO Servomotor/Unipolar stepper motor
@ag63717 жыл бұрын
LEGO Servomotor will turn 180 while the stepper motor can turn 360 as well as turning precisely
@LegoGBC10 жыл бұрын
Cool! It looks like it will need a lot of gear reduction,though
@TechnicRobot10 жыл бұрын
yes, general brushed DC motor is high speed but low torque, so need to build a gear box to drive LEGO Technic parts

Instead of copper tube I used pneumatic hose and it works, without epoxy or glue.

pjurkovi thanks for your feedback, is it ok when applying higher torque?

lol i wanted to do this but my motors were weak but they were bigger than the one you used.
@Klaevin10 жыл бұрын
this looks cool, except that I don't think that I would be willing to disfigure five lego pieces to get this. although, how customizable is the motor? I mean, how easy is it to modify a generic DC motor?
@TechnicRobot10 жыл бұрын
yes, the motor is a generic standard type 370 motor

which 2 wires you connect to the motor? Lego cable has 4 wires, I mean which 2 of them I should connect to motor for IR control
@jaromy038 жыл бұрын

Nice job. But are you aware of the maximum permissible current for the EV3 controller output? If you exceed it controller output will burn out. If you use powerful enought 9 Volt motor it will demand too high current from EV3 controller output.

Or save more money and don't use a lego controller.

any suggestions on where to find the copper tubing? I can find it in 4mm outer-diameter, but not in 2mm inner-diameter... :^(
@TechnicRobot10 жыл бұрын
can you find 4mm outer, 3mm inner and 3mm outer, 2mm inner? then you can try to combine 2 copper tubing
@Pete-nw3jr10 жыл бұрын
you read my mind! I got those 2 pieces but the 3mm outer wasn't 2mm inner. I could be wrong, I test fitted it on the shaft of a 280 motor I had, maybe the shaft isn't 2mm. I ordered a 370 motor, when it arrives I'll see if that fits what I have. Thanks for the reply! PS what did you use to connect the motor to the receiver?

long time ago but is it that motor: DC 9 V 0,01 A 2600RPM Rotary Speed 2 Pin elektromagnetischen Gear Motor www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00BGC7I92/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I am just wondering about the 0,01A - which could not make similar torque as LEGO L motor. But I did not found any spec for that motor.
