I feel like there's always a compromise between building experience and playabillity, adding a motor for every function makes the build less interesting imo, but makes the set more functional. I don't really have a strong opinion on this set other than that it's expensive.
@Ntgaming262 жыл бұрын
i think that if it wasnt using those mechanical pistons but pneumatic pistons and 1 motor plus a pump for making air pressure you could have better function but also a more interesting build

I work for a Caterpillar Dealer in Australia and CAT (that's what the manufacturer is called by dealers) has informed us that they are changing the naming convention of the entire product line. So this bulldozer, or correctly called Track Type Tractor, will now be named D11; distinguishing it from the proceeding model D11T. CAT have dropped the alphabet at the end, going forward. A bit of trivia for you. Thoroughly enjoyed your video and comments on this model. Looking forward to your next video.

Thanks for this video. I have just finished building the RC-Bulldozer by Happy Build® 22011: 7 motors, two hubs, RC (and some kind of "Control+" if you so wish), rechargeable batteries and excellent parts at a price of €180. It is a MOC that went into serial production, so it is not perfect in all aspects of the build, but it works fine. This means that I will not ever be needing the Lego version as it has fewer functions, no RC, no rechargeable batteries, fewer motors (which you are not free to use for whatever you want unless you buy additional stuff), just one hub, a sticker sheet (but no Cat prints - if I understand you correctly) and costs the princely sum of €450. It is just a no-brainer.

@suezq74Ай бұрын
Actually, according to the internet, both the D11 and D11T are different. The differences is: Engine and transmission: The D11 has updated engine and transmission software, which can save up to 8% on fuel. Hydraulics: The D11 has load sensing hydraulics and variable displacement piston hydraulic pumps, which improve efficiency and reduce energy loss. Weight: The D11 is heavier, which makes it more stable and improves traction. Operator controls: The D11T has several levers that have been changed into electronic switches, and some controls have been moved for increased visibility. Exhaust mufflers: The D11T's exhaust mufflers are closer to the front of the cab, and stand taller than the ones on the D11R. Modular design: The D11T has a modular design that allows for faster repairs and upkeep. Fuel system: The D11T has a fast fuel system with positive fuel shut-off to prevent fuel spillage. - Riley

in my opinion Liebherr is a much better deal. You get 300 more pieces (100 of wich are 2x2 round bricks), 2 hubs, 7 motors and each function has its own motor so you can use all of them at once. I think only advantage of D11 is the new tracks

Half of the dozer ops I’ve ever worked with have never put their ripper in the ground, so as long as it lifts in the air, then I’d say it’s pretty accurate XD The angled seat, the bogie suspension, the cannon track tensioner and the blade stabiliser bar were all nice touches. I like the big front grill as well. I’m sure the blade tilt will have electronic limiters built into the controls in the final release, the blade on the real thing doesn’t tilt back anywhere near that far. If the base plate of the blade is parallel to the ground, then it’s rolled back too far

@M3dicayne3 жыл бұрын
4:39 Nope. That's just a differential with only 3 gears. You can even add another frictionless gear and it works like a charm. Also, I don't like Lego's price at all at this point for a technically incorrect version where the drivetrain is just on the wrong wheel...
@xaytana3 жыл бұрын
The track tensioners are a surprise, probably the last thing I expected from this. Still a disappointment that the blade lift doesn't have a new xxl linear actuator, and instead a half fake actuator. The collision of the blade with the fake portion of the actuator is an absolute joke, reminds me of the Osprey's destruction of gears, or the Zetros' rear diff carrier allowing for gears to unmesh under stress; poor design is really starting to become a consistent theme, isn't it? The ripper is also a disappointment. I'm also still disappointed that Lego decided to throw the 18+ tax on this when the price could've instead covered a second hub and given us blade lift, blade tilt, ripper lift, and ripper tilt as separate, simultaneous functions. The design is alright, I guess, some of the techniques are a bit odd, though. What I'm curious about now is the performance of the new tracks, especially on hard, smooth surfaces. I'm also curious about compatibility with the rubber pieces that Lego uses as a bandaid for their poor track design.
@paologalbiati37823 жыл бұрын
The rubber pieces are useless because they can't touch the ground. Sariel show it in his review.
@jakesnyder26673 жыл бұрын
@@paologalbiati3782 Ah, yes, mention another content creator entirely, where there's a fairly large chance that a person hasn't watched that creator's video or doesn't even know of said creator. Hmm, I wonder why the original comment mentioned the rubber pieces in the first place _on this video_ when they could've just watched Sariel instead. Maybe it would've been better for this content creator to have shown this flaw in the original video that this comment exists on. Also, Sariel only showed the rubber studs, not the much taller rubber bars, and I wouldn't be surprised if the bars are tall enough to surpass the new track flanges. Rub a couple of your brain cells together, this is simple logic, it's not that hard to figure out.

My last technic model in my youth was 8857 (the street chopper from 93, however I still have the set in its alternate dragster form); unlike that one, I find all these new sets have blue, red, orage, and a plethora of other multi-color parts, which is fine if you're semi-blind from age, or if you're attention span is that of a goldfish where you cant focus on any specific area to notice the details when its all the same or similar color. Given that these are 18+ builds, that cost upwards of $500, 1) they should have same-color-parts for where they go in the overall, 2) All pieces that currently get stickers should have actually been printed (like the Ferrari)
