Thanks for another video. Your experiences with operating the camera, losing frames, overexposing and then still editing after getting the scans etc, reminds me why I no longer shoot film and am happy with my digital cameras! All good fun though, enjoy shooting and immersing yourself into the art of photography.

That’s all good. I still shoot digital, but I’m enjoying the challenge of film.

Soon you’ll be trying your hand at developing?! I’ve developed every roll. I’ve definitely messed some up but I enjoy the process. From shooting and developing the film to scanning. It’s a great mental break from the daily grind. I do wonder how much better the images would be if I’d have a professional lab process them.

Fantastic perspective! I own an M6 and was wondering if this lens would suit. I really appreciate this video, and your journey for film. A beautiful camera and lens. Can't wait for the Summaron 28mm. :)

I think this lens would pair up great with the M6

The images are processed perfectly. The characteristics of the film you speak of are true to Kodak Gold

Thanks, I wasn’t sure. I’m still experimenting with different films and lenses.

Beautiful camera, love that shutter sound. You’re gonna love the Ektar 100, I do.

FYI negative film will never look close to what you're seeing, all the stocks have some level of opinion on how things should look like. Most of the color from film come from the lab on how they actually scan the film. In your scans they look very much like a Noritsu scanner set on auto. Also the lens will cause some variance in the colors as well. Not much, but definitely should be noticeable. I have the actual old version of the summilux and I find colours very washed out on the lens, mainly due to the fact that it's an extremely low contrast lens designed for black & white, so color performance is not great. Especially compared to my 28mm Summicron.

Плёнка марки kodak даёт очень тёплые тона, неплохо для пасмурной погоды. Я использовал плёнку марки fujifilm для солнечных дней, она даёт более прохладный цвет

What about distortion on steel rim lens?
@joseuribe4307 ай бұрын
Color gold film is a bit warmer by specs. The washed out look is because you over exposed. Having said that I think your second roll looks much better. If you like more color saturation try Ektar 100

Kudos. Great gear. Enjoy. I simply don’t have the patience to ever touch film again.

I was just thinking, when you said that, maybe this thing is teaching me some patience and delayed gratification. ✌️

Yeah, it's a beautiful camera. And you can carry it everyday because it's so compact. Unfortunately the price tag is ridiculous.

I haven't shot film in about 20 years. Do I understand this correct? You mail out the exposed film and are emailed back digital files?
@sc12 ай бұрын
yes, but they post the digital files on your account page and you download them to your computer, and they also send back the negatives in the mail.

Thanks for the video. I refuse to buy that lens until they improve the build quality and rectify the filter/ lens shade conundrum. I want to use the rectangular lens shade together with a yellow filter. That Leica released this product with such problems is nothing short of arrogance.
@sc16 ай бұрын
I don't think they will ever improve the build quality regarding the wobbly aperture ring. I think they are trying to replicate the original, vintage lens. Regarding the lens shade, I might be wrong, but they might have already made some iterative improvements since the version I purchased. Please try to research this yourself, in regards to the current release of the steel-rim re-issue.

I'd say in my experience that the look is the chacterics of the film. I generally find negative films to be less realistic to what my eyes see. Also, in my experience, slide films are more true to the look and saturation of real life (to me). But slide films are far less forgiving for proper exposure.
@sc16 ай бұрын
Sorry, I have no experience with slide films, but I'm happy to share any of my limited experience with Leica Digital and Analog.

bro what you want? When you have problem with colors - to much warm tones - dont use Kodak Gold ;)
