1. Many years ago, over 40 years ago, had a severe tortilocolous develolped accidentially while riding on a midnight bus trip from Edmonton Alberta to Vancouver BC. Cause was sleep exhaustion and trying to rest with the head on an armrest using two seats to lay down; halfway through the trip, near Rogers Pass, BC, the highway was under construction but no one including the driver could foresee the deep potholes strewn for the next forty miles. Boom on one side of the neck, change up to the other side, boom on that side, By the time got to Kelowna, with no sleep for two days, the neck was in the beginning to a main seizure. Got off the bus and stayed at my sisters for one night. Arriving in Vancouver that day, the right side of the neck at the Levator Scapula muscle conjunction with the Trapezius and Scalenes, it was the size of a baseball hardball. It needed a Chiropractic adjustment first. But no chiropractor would touch it ~ one look and they said no. Ended up paralyzed i.e. had to lay down flat out for 14 -16 hours a day for the next three months. When up, there was no turning the head independently or even at the waist. If doing so a fire pain would surge and stay burning throughout the entire chest for the next 30-40 minutes. There was no jogging, no walking for a block ~ only get from a car e.g. to a rest stop at a restaurant. If at the restaurant, no head turning, only sitting erect. If being upset, or angry the same fire would flame up and teach me a lesson as if having moved the wrong way. Long story short, no walking for six months. Ended up at a massage school for one year, lots of good massages but no relief ~ but after six months could do a light jog on the track. At the end of the school year ended up at another sisters in Reading, Pennsylvanian. She found a 90 year old chiropractor. He gave me a 3 three inch long vial about 1/2 inch diameter of an oil called Melissia Officianalis and told me next day to go to the park and lay over a gymnastic bar in the park ~ upside down and sway like a cow ~ slowly, gently for a half hour after taking the first of 3 sips. Bringing a towel to put under the belly, this was done for about twenty minutes. After the 3rd sip, swaying away like a cow moves it head from side to side ~ upside down letting the head and upper body relax as much as possible, suddenly a "pop" sounded like a large submerged rain drop in a pool of water happened followed by a gush of energy throughout the entire upper body and neck and head ~ for the first time in three years all the pain was gone and was free to move in any direction and run to the heart's content. 2. Five years ago, September 2017, made a tea with 7 fresh Lemon Balm leaves from the garden, poured boiled water for 2 1/2 cups over it, and let it steep for 15 minutes. One cup made the whole body relax from months of stress for the first time. Lasted the entire afternoon to early evening...would go and take a sip now and then to continue the pleasant relaxation. About 10 pm took a second cup after warming it up from the same pot earlier, went to sleep just before 11 then woke up about 1 am to find the entire brain was being washed with a 'nourishment' that allowed deeper and deeper entry into conscious lucid dreaming wherein the dream blessing and blessings to a pinnacle of concentration was allowed. Immediately woke up totally refreshed as if starving no more. Rain Lady is totally correct about Lemon Balm ~ for stress, anxiety, nerve transmission, headache, toothache, sometimes just putting the brewed leaf from the cup on the face soothes a toothache. Yes, Lemon Balm is said to be used for a period of a couple of weeks...and to pay attention to how it feels after that, if hints to stop, for a period or longer period then to do so. Sorry for the long story, haven't recanted this to many, as a student of herbology ~ Lemon Balm always remains as a favourite cherished herb and should be in every home and business office ~ lol.

Because of you our family of 7 got an unexpected blessing!!!!! A lady was wearing a shirt with "God is good all the time" on it. I asked her if she watched your channel and she said no but we had a polite small chat talk of how the lord blessed us by protecting our family and pets from our house fire and how he worked in her life too. Afterwards we said our goodbyes and pulled in to the back of the parking lot to change our youngest butt and nurse. She came up 20 minutes later and said God lead her to leave her phone there for the first time ever. Then handed us $100 bill and said she felt God speak. We burst in tears because there was no way she knew we needed it as we've been struggling and that amount was the minimum to pay the rest of our monthly needs for our family of 7. (She's a mother of 8 we found out and we have 5 so we felt a kinship immediately). So thank you for helping bring a blessing into our world!!! God bless you and yours!!!

No matter the pain (we've went through hell. House fire and lost everything, held my 20 month old niece as cancer took her, lost multiple loved ones and family as well as not been able to get help with our home.) we've been through we always make it through and blessings come when we most need them. We're also able to bless others as they need even though we have very little. God is great all the time!!!!!

I recently discovered the tea with lemon balm helps me get to sleep and stay asleep. I make a quart of it and put it in the refrigerator to split for 2 nights. It has worked so well I have been able to successfully decrease a medication I have been taking for years for sleep assistance to lessen pain and prevent AM headaches. I didn't know it could slow the thyroid, thank you for the information! I drank it 2 times one day for anxiety and was so calm it felt wrong! This is a miracle herb.

You could consider mixing it up like I do. Try catnip or catmint tea for one night (tastes best when mixed with mojito or peppermint) then lemon balm the next. Or even go stretches of a few nights each. Valerian leaf is also another great option to help with sleep, it is not as powerful or strong tasting as the root but still can work well for calming the nerves

However, what I have done is put together a video on HOW you can learn about these things yourself here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2rVZWukitd2b5I and if I do not cover the books I keep on hand in that video, I do in this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oX-kZqaol7Z0q7M

@@sujo0603 Instead of "cuttings" make sure ot pull up a chunk from the roots. Most herbs in the mint family are easy to propagate in this manner. I just look for an easy to grab piece or two on the outside edges of the main plant. Even if it is just one small sprig, as long as you have a big of root, simply plant it in a small pot and water well. Once it begins to outgrow the pot, plant it anywhere you want. I have done this with lemon balm, peppermint, oregano, mojito mint, and more

Lemon Balm is best with zinc applied directly to any type of herpe sore. This includes shingles. Take dehydrated powdered balm, mix a small amount after putting some coconut oil in the palm of your hand. (Shingle outbreaks are bigger and cover more area so make as needed. Mixture should have a green color to it.). You can also add crushed zinc. I find the zicam meltables work great. Mix both into the oil well and apply to any erupting sores. Can also put on surrounding areas since it often comes to certain areas. Can take lemon balm and zinc by mouth as well for good measure. If you get to know the tingle and then the tenderness, prior to eruptions, this is the best time and you’ll have no problem. Put it on consistently for days when the tingle or itch arises. Usually that will be the only symptom of an almost outbreak. No painful bumps or sore to develop. Now zinc or lemon balm alone will work but both in the oil is a one two punch. In stores, lemon balm may be listed by its other name, Melissa. Usually in gel caps. Can use part of one capsule to a bit of oil. The oil essentially helps keep it on the skin. Reapply 3-4 times a day, not to open skin.

I used lemon balm tea medicinally (internally and externally) for a recent outbreak of shingles. I only used lemon balm, nothing else. I had very few lesions and the pain only lasted about a week and a half. The way I use herbs medicinally is 6 days on, one day off, then repeat if necessary. Plants’ defense mechanisms are the chemicals that can be good for us in certain doses, specific per person. So thankful you mention this, as a dietitian, those in my field seem to forget that and hyper prescribe herbs and vegetables forgetting that in many people (honestly most people) high doses can be toxic. The damage from prescribing high doses of spinach and almonds (mostly in smoothie form) has led to serious problems with oxalate damage in many folks is a good example of this. Thanks much!

@sherryc1068 2 жыл бұрын
@@deborahstrickland9845 Oxalic acid is in many of the plants (and in very small doses - meat, we even make some ourselves) we eat, it forms crystals in the body which cannot be processed by the body and must be excreted. When it is eaten in high doses from foods such as almonds, spinach, kale, sorrel, etc., it will be excreted to some degree but the body intelligently knows that if it tries to dump it all at once, kidney damage can occur, which does happen, this is why nephrologists know to look for oxalate crystals in their patients, particularly those with kidney stones. When it doesn't dump it all, it stores the crystals in the body - it's being found in breast tissue, in joints, and other sensitive places. For more information, look at the work of Sally K Norton. Great!! I like to mix one half lemon balm infused oil w/one half of my St. John’s Wort infused oil to make my cold sore, or Stresser balm. For me, if I get stressed, really super stressed, it comes out in an annoying fever blister and this combo is a 1-2 punch for fever blister relief and shorter duration of outbreak.

I started growing lemon balm this year and I absolutely love it. There is such a satisfying feeling when you grow something on your own, even down to something as small as an herb or medicinal flower. Also, your knowledge and great videos are what made me want to learn about and grow my own medicinal herbs. I’m sure people have said it before, but Heidi, you would be able to write your own AMAZING book about your knowledge of herbs. I have Rosemary Gladstar’s book but I would really enjoy ‘Heidi’s Rain Country Garden’ book. 👍🏼😉
