Good god Geoff, That's my favourite sweet! Beautifully executed I have to say although to time-consuming and expensive for me to make just for me and the wife on our own. We'll stick to having it as out sweet when we can eventually go out to our favourite restaurant. But I don't think it will taste as good as yours though. P.S. Your face at the end when you get to taste it. Priceless.
@geoffsbakingblog4 жыл бұрын
Hi Marshall. It would be expensive for two, unless you kept it chilled at ate rather more than you might want until it had all gone. I was able to divest myself of most of it though, so it was fine for me. My haggard face is certainly priceless, to me. LOL.

Geoff, your recipe is lovely made this a while back but have made another today for my family bubble. I didn't have enough lemons so made up with a jif lemon. Have also piped some mini meringues & dried them seperately for the top. It was unintentional but baked the case a bit too much & didn't want to dry your super base recipe by putting it in the oven any more. Thank you again for your presise directions & love your videos xxx
@geoffsbakingblog4 жыл бұрын
HI Linda. I am glad you enjoy the recipe. I am sure the mini meringues will work very well too. I rather wish I could have a slice.

LMP . . My favourite! I don't make it any more cos I'm on my own now and I know I would eat the lot. Your recipe isn't exactly the same as mine but near enough. I always say that a LMP can't be too lemony. Very nice, Geoff. Thank you.

🌺Hello Geoff, lemon meringue pie is an all time favourite of mine,I certainly will be baking this ,also if possible when you state the oven temperature could you possibly include the gas setting to,thank you Geoff and take care.
@geoffsbakingblog4 жыл бұрын
Hi Elaine. I hope you enjoy the pie. I am not very good on gas marks so for instance 180C/350F is Gas Mark 4 and apparently 160C/325F(really329) is gas mark 3, which would imply that 170C/340F would be gas mark 3 1/2 if there is such a setting, but the conversion tables I looked at don't really show that.

HI. I was very good. I took a second slice for later and the remainder was delivered to my niece and her husband.
@karenstewart88184 жыл бұрын
My dad loved Lmp. I've never made it with a 'crispy' top before, but I may try that. Usually I just baked the meringue on top until the tips of the peaks were brown.
@geoffsbakingblog4 жыл бұрын
Hi Karen. I have never have the pie without a crispy meringue. That was always how it was made when i was younger. These days I think restaurants tend to make an Italian meringue and then just blow torch the top, or put it under the grill/broiler for a few minutes. I don't think that is how I would like it. In fact cooking for longer would make the meringue more crispy and even chewy in the centre.
@faridaaminy97344 жыл бұрын
Geoff this recipe looks great, but unfortunately I can't make it cause it has citrus and that gives me migraine:(. But a tip for the parchment paper, just crimple it and then open it this will make it fit better in the crust.
@geoffsbakingblog4 жыл бұрын
Hi Farida Aminy, thanks. It's a shame you cannot try it, but I understand. Migraines must be avoided if possible. I do scrunch my parchment paper when baking smaller tarts etc. But for this one the weight of the baking beans was enough to properly line the tart tin.
