I am shocked because I remember this moment on TV. Lena is a wonderful singer and the World is a worse place without her. RIP Lena.

This is how I remember her she used to come in my store quite often with her boyfriend late at night in North Finchley such a lovely person. That was in 1987.

There are some men that absolutely adore women and they them. Des shows a great deal of kindness to Lena and seems such a nice bloke. No wonder that his young wife considers herself lucky. Great interview Des, thank you.

Absolutely agree with below, Lena was a British Karen Carpenter in every way as a performer, just adored Lena's sincerity and quality which added to her appeal even more.

Lena looked and sounded positively GORGEOUS here. If she didn't put out a record of this song, she should have! Definitely a classic. Up there in the top 5 with 'Going nowhere' of my all-time Lena favourites. Thanks so much for posting this!

I just read that Lena passed away in 1999. I didn't even know where she was or what was happening in her life.....May she rest in peace. She was a huge inspiration when I was young...I think we were around the same age and I always knew I would sing and Lena thank you, you are a beautiful Angel. Thank you for the memories.

wow! what a voice! and what a shame. she was so cute and full of life, I have never heard of her before until tonight. i found this through Rod Hull and his emu when they were on her show. Its a shame we live in a world where our outer appearance is more important than whats on the inside. Im not sure if this was the case here but she was very talented and such a beautiful girl inside and out..

But, remember, Page and Buckley were onstage in the Lloyd-Weber production: I don't know if Zavaroni was there or not, but even Barbra Streisand did this song...everyone who has ever had a voice with range has done this song. Who's better? Doesn't matter: the song itself is a test of the vocal ability. Hers passes the test.

We human beings need to be careful what thoughts we instill in our children. This beautiful, talented person is no longer with us because she had the idea that she was fat. God help us all to raise our daughters and sons to be accepting of themselves and others. What a tragedy.

If you are yet to have children or grand children I hope your family will all be well and not have problems like some to have the mickey taken out of them. Good luck to the people who leave the negative comments about Lena, but watch out as life has a habit of knocking you down when you least expect it.

Her voice had really matured by this point. In her teens, there were points in her singing when it was a little too much like shouting, but in this one that stuff is the best part.

Hmm. Des seemed a bit less reckless than Terry Wogan; didn't make any wisecracks, and that is a good thing. Lena did an excellent performance as usual and was very beautiful. But I do miss that Wogan interview from 1985; seen parts of it lots of times as I felt that was the peak of her beauty. Whatever happened to that video?

@willewinky I miss the music from the 60's, 70's, 80's and even some from the 90's...people actually SANG. Now it's a bunch a nasal-sounding tarts, and the ones who do have real talent are over looked.

does god hate us?? why do people like lena, karen carpenter, randy rhoades, stevie ray vaughn, jim morrison, and gary moore, have to die so young. but we get stuck with justin bieber, and pink, and taylor swift, and beyonce, and all this no talent bullshit nowadays???? I don't get it!!!
@SuzLa112 жыл бұрын
Why do people blame god, when if people didn't encourage children to sing to make money then they wouldn't get affected. Did god force Morrison to take drugs?
