I agree but let’s be honest my 14 cayman base gets me pretty close to the feeling for a lot less money. The induction noise is what I like, wish I could retro fit that on the 981. But I do not track. That thing is a great track toy, one of the best.

I own a 2006 987 Boxster S. 6 speed manual. It is the most fun every day driver. Turns into corners begging to be pushed a little more. Well balanced yet, as you said, not a kidney jarring experience. On a sunny day with the top down, my wife just sits and smiles at me enjoying my toy. Porsche does so many thing so well and they are a lot less finicky than the other cars in it’s class.

I have a 911 and a Cayman. Like Jenny and Forrest, they go together like “peas and carrots.” Love them. Was never really a car guy until my first Porsche, then I was disappointed I had waited so long. One for taking the Mrs. to dinner, and one for track day/grabbing a hamburger. I am not saying which is which, as the great thing about Porsches, you can do both with both. 😊

Yes the 718 GT4 is available in a manual. Only the RS version is limited to PDK automatic. The sad thing is the 718 GT4 RS will sell for more $$$ than most 911s will. It’s rare and the demand greatly exceeds supply.

The Cayman has the most beautiful lines of any car I have seen. Can anyone tell me the years to look out for the IMS bearing problem and how it is diagnosed for a layman purchaser? Are there specific symptoms ie. noises etc? How long does it take to get a Blackstone oil analysis and is that something the seller would allow with a substantial deposit?

Dear Donald, the Lancia Montecarlo(the designer Paolo Martin is a very close friend to me, and of course I own a Monte in the same gold color than his very own) had exactly 120 hp, out of a 1995 Fiat 4 cylinder engine, not 150-160.
@bennyhannover9361 Жыл бұрын
Dear Sir , You are right for the last European version produced between 1981 to 1983? It has the 2000 injection engine from the 132 and the Lancia Beta series. But the 1976 to 1978 had the old 1800 carburetor version with 106? Hp and for american 84 octane petrol the compression was 7,8 so just 78 to 82 Hp remained. But no shame the MG B had 68 Hp in US version and a Mercedes 380 SL 156 Hp versus 218 Hp in Europe. Dear regards from Germany
@jean-jacqueskaselorganreco6879 Жыл бұрын
@@bennyhannover9361 I am really sorry, there was never an injected Montecarlo engine and there was no 1800 version either for Europe, in any of the years.All engines were carburettors and 1995 ccm Lampredi twin came Fiat engines.Please research on the speicalized groups or on internet. Jay and Donald are wonderful hosts and I love them for their passion about cars, but neither of them really do justice to reviewing a sports car. The GT4RS is a hardcore track car and is not really intended for leisurely driving like Jay and Donald are doing in the video. I'd rather they focus on sharing classic and vintage cars and the history that goes along with them.

"glorious symphony of induction noises" Is that what I call sucking noises? If you put a roof scoop on your car and it does not improve aerodynamics or increase horsepower then you are a snorkel dork. What I want to hear is the clatter of a valve train and an exhaust system that is not a one-note trumpet.

Thats like putting a manual in a jeep rubicon that goes rock crawling in moab every weekend. The vehicle is so high performance the manual ie you cant touch the functionality of the automatic. If you want a manual vehicle get a jeep sport or a porsche targa. Leave the high end automatics to the professionals.
