I totally agree with you... Notice that after the 'black' album Metalica is just a garbage show. They are sooo dry sounding. These bad 'recordings' sound better than their new studio work... lol They just have no heart, Lars has always been a smuck... lol James thinks he had a hard life when he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Daddy paid for those Marshal amps. The unforgiven? pfft...
@ReneParada2 жыл бұрын
They are both lucky to have met each other. But in all honesty, the loss of Cliff was the biggest what if in their legendary careers. It is undeniable that with the original four, they were already legends, not just in skill, but in artistry. The musicality was just insane. Cliff may have helped bring Jason and the 3 horsemen together and built the next chapter to their legacy. Looking back at it now, Metallica always and will forever have the burden of bringing the metal scene which they helped grow become what it is now, bringing new audiences to the fold. You cannot say that with other bands, no matter how hard they try to be so-called "pure" and "true". To be able to withstand all the hate and still be the legends they are now, all other bands should at least respect what the core of Metallica has done and given all these decades.

Did you know that Rob has now been in Metallica for longer than both Cliff and Jason combined? Cliff = 4 years, Jason = 15, Rob = 20 and counting. He is just as much a part of Metallica as they are and deserves far more respect than this. You may be intending to praise Jason and express your admiration for him, which is totally understandable, but this has what I think is an unintended effect of diminishing and belittling Rob in the process. You really should check out some of there most recent stuff because Rob is a ridiculously good bassist and certainly fits the band. They never got around to playing this classic (in full) while Jason was with them, so it's a must watch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3eYgHuLjcagfLM

@@namikstudios What you say is very true! However, Jason was there when it counted most. Rob is good if not the best Bass player they have ever had. Nice to see James compliment Jason to the crowd and show him respect and what seems like genuine friendship. We all know the stories and the hell he and the band went through after Cliff passed. Newsted is severely underrated. He had a monster tone and was beyond tight with his pick right from the beginning. His audition tape for Metallica was incredible. From the beginning his bass chops were insane and if it wasn’t for Metallica burying his bass lines on Justice alot more people might have taken notice of just how great a bass player Jason was in Metallica. No offense to Cliff but Jason made the band tight AF with a thundering bass tone. To my ear Metallica sounded so much better and tighter as a band once Jason joined. Jason’s early bass playing before the black album was incredible. Jason played great after the black album but instead of all the great technically difficult bass lines he wrote in his early days he started writing a lot simpler and groove oriented bass lines after recording with Bob Rock. Jason was a beast with that pick. But most of all the energy Jason brought to the live shows and the backup vocals he added made a HUGE difference in Metallica’s sound and live presence. As much as I love Cliffs creativity and virtuoso chops and style as well as Rob and even Dave Ellefson to me Jason was the best bass player in all the different lineups of the big four.
