@kazohin4 жыл бұрын
Very nice! How do you play left hand legato not too loud and so we still hear the tune in right hand?
@moshezuchter4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! That's a big question, re: controlling the sound of each hand. I would say it has to do with hand independence. The first thing to do is try it out on a simple melody. For example, just play a C major chord with your left hand, and then try and press one or two keys with your right. It shouldn't be a song, but try and make that melodic. Try and vary its intensity. Then try introducing more elements to it. Another chord on the left hand (C major to G major) and a more complex melody. I made a blog post and videos about it here: accordionlove.com/the-how-to-guide-to-coordinating-your-hands-on-the-accordion/
@kazohin4 жыл бұрын
@@moshezuchter Thanks very much, it's already getting better. It's magic how the intensity and the timing of intensity effect the volume of right and left different ways, very interesting! I keep exploring :)

Hi I love the video!! I have an accordion since my childhood and I always play songs by hearing. That is why it is really hard for me to use the left part. What do you recommend to learn this song from your video? Seperating the song into left and right hand or combining directly (it takes two minutes to play the melody for me)?
@moshezuchter5 жыл бұрын
Practice your left hand. Make sure you know how to play every key in the song, and then how to connect between them (e.g. from C to Am, and back, without any mistakes). Play the song through left hand only, and then slowly start introducing the right hand, line by line.

i liked ur video but please can u next time focus on the timing when u switch directions. i call it the "breating". So that you dont play one note and switch the direction at the same time . This sounds clearer and i think better. (Sry for the english) XD
@moshezuchter Жыл бұрын
Hi Sammy, good point. Hand coordination and holding notes over chord changes are one of those skills that's so critical to playing. I cover it in more detail on accordionLove.com lessons. I also wrote about it here: accordionlove.com/the-how-to-guide-to-coordinating-your-hands-on-the-accordion/

Hi Moshe, Accordion beginner here, but coming in with some previous music experience/wisdom/trauma... Is it bad form in Accordion to use the counter-bass as roots for a 7 chord? The jump to A minor could be avoided by using the A counter-bass (off the F "row") and playing a C Major triad on top. Technically it's an Aminor7 chord. Just wondering. Thanks for the great tutorial!
@moshezuchter3 жыл бұрын
Hey Russ, sure, that works, but I guess it depends on the song. I think it's important to be able to play a C major to A minor oom-pa, without too much trouble. Meaning, it's a fairly standard type of jump. The F major to A minor is a little bigger, so I can see why using the F counterbass would be useful in that case.

Hi Gabi. If you're just looking for sheet music there are a few sheet music sites on the Internet that sell them. If you Google "Leonard Cohen Piano Sheet Music" you'll find some. SheetMusicPlus I believe is a good one. Piano sheet music is fairly straightforward to translate to accordion. I also have Suzanne and Hallelujah on accordionlove.com for accordion, with a video lesson explaining how to play the song, if you're interested.
