Thanks so much for the lepanthes video! Just stunning.. Purchased 2 micros-Pleurothallis Dresslerii (sp?) and Lepanthes Telipogoniflora. I’m an elder newb Think I killed the Pl.-but the moss is green 😁 Lepanthes still alive thanks to you. Wrapped in Sphagnum moss and not overwatering anymore, thanks to your last stream w/ lepanthes water and fertilize tips. You’ve given me hope.. Mounted Lepanthes lives in a 3 qt jar with local moss on bottom, on seed starting mat. Just raised temp.. Bobby I’m grateful to you and so excited ♥️ your set-up gave me idea for a hack 😉

Paula Marsh thank you so much!! I’m glad you enjoy my little outtakes. If I end up laughing at myself, chances are it’s going on the end of the video! I’m a mess..... you know this! 😝 Thank you so much for watching and supporting, as always! I hope all is well and you are staying safe. When can we expect hillbilly orchids to debut my dear friend? The Phal and cattleya queen needs her red carpet entrance!

Such a beautiful collection of these babies Bobby. The dodsonii has got my attention, but have to see how the ones I have got get on with what I have done with them. No good having lousy eyesight with these now is it. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Lucifer but it looks good so far so fingers crossed. The telepogoniflora is still the best so far I think. Calodyction is doing well here as well and I just love the leaves, it would not bother me in the slightest my friend if it never flowered so long as those leaves bounced about in the air as they do. Can’t wait to see what you get next. There is a nursery over here in the UK that is acquiring some of these so we shall see how they grow. She is very expensive though and some are in a pitiful state but others are really growing on. We shall see. Stay safe as always over there. We have increases and local lockdowns going on over here and people being silly but that is life. All good with my boys currently and long may it continue.

Lynn Smith thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed! I totally understand about the calodictyon and feel the same but trust me, it is a powerhouse once it gets going. I’m happy to hear you are having success so far and look forward to seeing what you end up with as well! Ecuagenera is by far the most reasonable in price but it is a risk sometimes depending on the season. I find Lepanthes from various places but they are usually rather pricey in the states as well. We have a lot of foolishness going on here as well but no more lockdowns or anything. Our leaders here have done a terrible job of enforcing all the rules that keep people safe. The economy rules all here, unfortunately. I stay masked, sanitized and away from people at work and hide out with the dog and orchids whenever possible. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a vaccine next year and or a change up in the leadership and subsequent changes to keep us safer. I’m so thankful I picked up this hobby a few years back... I seriously don’t know what I would do without my little private jungle and all you wonderful people to chat with! Stay safe and happy growing!

Hi thanks for sharing. How many years took for those lepanthes starting to bloom? I’ve found a shop selling those but each with only 2 or 4 leaves so I don’t know how long I should wait to see the blooms… thanks.

Bobby, we already know you're a giant, you don't need teeny tiny plants to make your hands look bigger. 😉 Speaking of Ecuagenera, I have to figure out what I'm going to do with the plants coming in October, no miniatures in there. What is it about a sale I can't resist? 😳
@CloudforestVibesOrchidsMore4 жыл бұрын
Michael McCarthy lmfao..... I just can’t help myself..... it’s a bit Godzilla like oafing my way around the tank sometimes, I’ll have to give you that! 😝😂 I’ve been putting together a really nice list on ecuagenera and I think it will be spring for me but I’m working on a nice spread of mini to medium sized plants again. Guess I need to make some space before then. All I can say is an orchid sale and folks like us is like a light for a moth..... what’s Rogers saying.... pretty blooms must have! Thanks for watching, I hope you’re staying safe!

@@CloudforestVibesOrchidsMore I've been sipping Bailey's Irish Cream since 4, trying to finish off a bottle before it goes rotten. 🥳 I have to convince myself not to go to the orchid show near me on Oct 10. It wasn't supposed to happen, I ordered from Ecuagenera, now it is happening. 🤷 Maybe if the Ecuagenera stuff arrives in good shape before then, I won't be tempted to shop.

Michael McCarthy spoken like a true champion.... cheers my friend! 🧉 Been a beer and greenhouse kind evening on this house as well! Sticking with the principle of “they drink=I drink” out of strict fairness. 😝

what lux range do you keep your lepanthes telipogoniflora? i'm so confused since sombody propose 14000-22000 lux other full shade. ufff
@CloudforestVibesOrchidsMore3 жыл бұрын
So, I do not have a light meter or know the LUX of my light but I can say this.... if you are growing them in artificial light they love higher bright light (not full sun) and their leaves will gon purple if they receive too much. You want a nice healthy bright green color for the leaves. If you are growing in sun..... I would say bright shade or perhaps an hour or 2 or early AM filtered sun with bright shade through the day. They are super easy going and I think humidity is far more important than light. You always want to keep it at 85%-90% humidity if possible and it should be a happy plant! Thanks for watching! I hope this helps! Happy growing!!

@@CloudforestVibesOrchidsMore oh i see. let me tell you my problem. i have a telipogoniflora that made two rounds of leaves as i received it then completely stoped making new leave and now is flowering from three different leaves. it is the third round of flowers from the same stalks. the fact it stopped doing leaves worry me a lot. it used to be outside here in florida. when it stopped making leaves i put it in a jar under a light but in a shadowy position, as i thought the block was due to too much light as the leaves where some kind of redish. now almost 3 month have past and it is still not producing leave but flower only. im concernd it is going to die soon. i asked ecuagenera people and they told me it is not normal it is not doing leaves and the solution was give it more light.......so i don't know what is going on. everything i do is not going to promote the leaves production. at the moment it is at 95-100% humidity into a sealed exoterra and 72F. it has always been in pretty high humidity environment.

How long does each of the Lepanthes telipogoniflora bloom last at a time
@CloudforestVibesOrchidsMore3 жыл бұрын
Telipogoniflora blooms are a bit variable depending on temps. In higher temps the blooms only last a day or 2 but in lower temps they can last upwards of a week each. They do make up for the quick blooms with abundance and once they get going they are almost always in bloom. Thank you for watching, happy growing!
