I’m making a clown and there’s several ripple pieces around both hands and neck. As I waited as unfamiliar with the patter until the whole arm was made, I think I’ll wait until I crochet two rows above the ruffle line then make it and continue with the arm. Your tips have proven to be very helpful, I’d say invaluable in my journey. So far so good.

Thank you for this, Elise. I’m working on two of my WIP “three little pigs” (third one not yet started), and got their noses sewn on and sock “cuffs” made! The double crochet didn’t work for me, so I used treble crochet stitches, instead. I must crochet quite tight. The doubles didn’t cover the space from the tops of the “socks” to the tops of the “shoes”, so I did the trebles, because they’re longer. Also, I like the standing crochet stitches better, so I used them to start the rows of stitches, instead of chains. I’m now on the making of the ears! So I’ll get these babies finished yet!!!
