Les Guinguettes: A short history

They seem to be popping up everywhere in France, especially along rivers and lakes, outside busy city centers.
They were gone for a while, but they returned a couple of decades ago and are bigger than ever.
Welcome to "les guinguettes!" When they return, summer is around the corner. No wonder the French love them so much!
Here's their story.

Salut Véro, great video! Thanks for the introduction to a new word, les guinguettes. I was just in your city last week, so cool, so much to see. I didn’t make it to the rive droite, watching your video I wish I would have, and would have visited Tours Plage. The left bank was packed and hopping, even some live music. Ciao!
