Ansa Exhaust system. I love the sound and have managed to find one for my TR6 project even though they are not made anymore!

Enjoyed watching; you and Les were victories in getting the motor to run; and Les got a few victory laps in to end the day.

Brilliant, Les was one very happy man, well done. Kind regards, Richard.

That's the best sounding TR6 I've ever heard! I love that exhaust. I'm already excited to see that car come together! Thanks for letting us take a look.

So glad Les has finally seen the light and now is enjoying a real car. Having said that a TR3 would even be better!

What a funny video! The motor sounds great and this is a very impressive way to disassemble a windscreen frame :-) Greetings with an open bottle of beer from Germany. Take care and stay healthy! Uwe

Jeeeze, Tush....all I could think of when Les first pulled out of the shop was that you just handed a pistol to a toddler. I was happy to see that the brakes worked! Seriously though, a good session! Cheers, Kevin

Les is right, as we do in the UK always start the day right with a hot drink and ponder over your plans lol Cheers, Jeff.

Tell Les I want to see a nice Galvinized Radiator shroud when he's done with that. Especially after he leaned on the cardboard one and put a flying Vee in it!

When you did the compression test....did you have the carbs at full throttle? I didn't see that on the video when you tested. Maybe that's why the numbers are off?
@mrblowhard2u4 жыл бұрын
The throttle needs to be open when doing a compression test.
@johnmoruzzi72364 жыл бұрын
You're meant to hold the throttle wide open when doing the compression tests...
@johnmoruzzi72364 жыл бұрын
I checked the compressions last week on my 1995 Fiat Tipo 1400 with 128,600 miles (205,500 km) on it. They were all 195 or 200 PSI (it had a mild head refresh a few years ago). Unfortunately the valve clearances need shimming as most are 0.05 / 0.1mm too tight. So yes, I agree your TR6 values are low. Still sounds great and runs fairly sweetly !
@jamcdona4 жыл бұрын
I'll be damned, that runs great! Compression test #'s are way low for how good it's running. You need to do the test with a hot engine (or at least warm) and with throttle wide open. Those numbers are consistent with a cold test. I'll bet it tests out at 145+ psi....

I didn't know this car had overdrive... It sounds great and it looks like someone took good care of it until whatever accident happened to it. Dot 5 brake fluid... I am sure between these 2 cars Les is gonna have a great TR6 one day. How lucky is this guy :) Anyway, don't scrap the bottom of that windshield frame whenever it comes out. I might need some parts of it :)
@cheftush4 жыл бұрын
Ok I’ll hang onto it for you...I think Les has three windscreens in storage...at least three frames that is...

Hey Chef if the sills and the rockers are good why change the body.
@cheftush4 жыл бұрын
It has some pretty serious body issues...very rusty floor pans in the front...bad damage at the top of the b post, front valance, front fender, rear saddle etc...I think we will find more issues when we move along as well.

@cheftush2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is a tough one in Canada since none of the North American cars had Petrol Injection as they were all carbureted

Kenneth Roby Hi Kenneth, the brakes were seizing up on it so we will have to cut him some slack.
