Oh god when King asked if they could play catch afterwards with that cloth over his face as they were ready to stab him. That brought me to tears. It took me back to to Graves of the Firefly. Where the little sister made food out of mud to feed herself and her brother. As the brother held onto her while she died from starvation. The hope in both King's voice and the little sister that things will be better killed me.

Not only does it show how much she cares for them but also does address a common trope of kids saving the world.. like eda is devastated that they need to go through this and there’s lot of shows out there that don’t ever address the literal CHILDREN going through wars and have to save worlds (not hating on those shows just wanted to point it out)

Apparently, Titans come in all sizes, but is the blood in his veins the same as the substance called "Titan's Blood" or is that just called that because it is so powerful? I do wonder if Luz misremembering things during stressful situations is gonna have any plot relevance later on. She misremembered what her mom made her promise, and then she misremembered the Collector's rhyme. I think it's to show how you can misremember things under duress--Luz remembers what she feels the implications of those wordings meant; The Collector clearly means harm, so she misremembered the words as worse than they were. She feels like she fits in better in the Boiling Isles and her friends, girlfriend and found family are here--being completely separated from them would be devastating. I don't think it means anything other than the writers paying attention to detail, but we'll see!

Example, the collector memory in the beginning of the episode, the collector says different dialogue than in the episode of what happened. I have a new theory that King's dad is the "last titan", because if you go back to the episode where King learns about where he hatched, he says he heard someone saying "son" in a roaring language. The leader of this hunter tribe says he saw it and it blew out his ear drums, right? But he was surprised to see a baby titan. I think King's dad is still out there somewhere, and that King is now the second titan to survive.

He could have been in there for centuries. However that would mean Bill is also centuries old, because he heard King's dad's cry, which I figure is the same one King heard before he fell back to sleep in the egg. And that is possible since we don't know how long a witch can live for, especially if they're using magic to stay alive. We also have timey wimey possibilities, though that imo would be convoluted. But it makes more sense that King's father was just the last recent Titan. The Isles Titan is obviously very old, I would imagine there were Titans alive after it's death. There's also the way Bill talks about the Boiling Isles, calling it a "garbage carcass" without any care. Then he talks about the Titan (King's father) very passionately, and with hatred. This implies he's not talking about the same being.

Also a lot of people have probably pointed out that when everyone is talking and the camera zooms in on Eda, the last line spoken by the gang is Hooty saying: "does anyone else hear matching at the edge of the forest?" Which was setup for the end of the episode of course, but two other things about it that I don't know if anyone's brought up yet are that 1) God how incredible is Hooty's hearing exactly? If no one else heard it you gotta imagine he's got some enhanced abilities or something, and more importantly 2) despite her not answering his question and not having a visible reaction to it that would clue us into this being true, the fact that this is the last thing she hears before deciding to agree for Luz and King to go on this quest might be hinting to us that she heard what Hooty said, processed what that could mean if he's right, and decided that the kids shouldn't be here when the marching got closer.

@@HarleyCringe Well, first of all, her expression when Terra told her what her "promotion" is haunts me. Second, I think it would be really interesting if she and Hunter ended up bonding over the undauntedly horrific shit Belos & the coven system overall put both of them through. It's clear that it was deliberately built to pit its victims against each other, even the ones that are allegedly supposed to be working together. There's a reason there's so much hostility between all three of the named members of the Emperor's Coven, you know? (...well, except for Steve, but much as I enjoy him he's mostly a joke character.) And I think Kiki, out of all the characters we've met, is likely the one most affected by this toxic mentality, and I'd love to see her overcome it. In short, I enjoy her for her character development potential, and because I feel bad for her the same way I feel bad for all of Belos's other victims. Also, I think she's hilarious.

I'd kinda love it if one of the next episodes is everybody crashing at Willow's (Luz, King & Hooty after this one's final scene; Hunter because he didn't know where else to go after Hollow Mind; and Amity should she decide to cut Odalia out of her life). Like Luz&co arrive at Willow's asking if they can stay, then they see that Hunter and Amity are already there too, cut to title sequence.

I have a theory. The woman from the painting is Edas mother but younger and pregnant. She was a friend of Philip's brother until he died. It would explain WHY Eda found the Portal Door in her childhood home front garden. Eda is the only one who can stop the day of Unity because she is the most powerful witch on the boiling aisles and the child of Philip's banisher. Eda's mother may play a massive part in this too. We could get a show down between Eda, her mother and Bellos. The day of Unity might be to merge both the human realm and the demon realm. Eda is the true main character of the owl house, Luz is the audience.

But after the time travel episode I saw the dead Titan still existing in the boiling iles long before King was born so I was like "Okay dumb theory I guess." I have a theory that involves the Bat Queen! Hear me out. We know her owner was a giant. Not the size of The Titan for obvious reasons. But what if, she was the Palisman to King's father? Or at least another Titan. Think, he was born from a rather large egg. Whoever laid it had to be pretty big, just about the right size for the Bat Queen to be a descent sized Palisman. We don't know how long titans live in order become the size of the Isles, but they must reach adulthood well before then. Given how powerful and potent Titan Blood is, the titans themselves must have been the original magic users that present-day witches and demons model their practices after, and they have no idea!

With regard to that theory about Philip's brother (let's call him Caleb) having a relationship with a Clawthorne, I think another piece of support would be that Caleb was good at carving. He carved little Philip's mask for him, as seen in one of the background paintings in Hollow Mind, and we know that palisman carving is something that has been passed down the Clawthorne line. It was probably a Caleb thing. It could even be that Caleb carved Flapjack himself and that's how birds became a Clawthorne thing.

As a Warhammer fan, I got to appreciate the "For the Emperor!" at the end. But, as for more important things: First, I would have never guessed that with all going on in this episode, what would stand out most to me is Eda crying because she doesn't know how to protect Luz. This is the same character who basically didn't care about anything, even didn't bother remember Luz's name at first. All that while her whole progress felt completely natural. This is just amazing character writing. Though, then again, King being a titan... Did not see that coming. Despite having speculated about it when we had the episode about "his" island. The one thing this all means is, in his veins runs titan blood. Even more, back in Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Hooty's Door he took a blood sample of him. On one hand, I wonder if he still has that. On the other, I wonder even more if that test he did wasn't as inconclusive as Hooty said it was. I keep telling you, that bird worm knows way more then he lets us see. Edit: Oh, and if King did make some kind of connection with the Collector in this episode and it is the same Belos is working with/for, then most likely Belos now knows as well that there is still titan blood on the Boiling Isles.

OH MY GOODNESS YES YES YES!! I clicked so fast when I saw the notification, this whole episode had my heartstrings PULLED like holy cow I kind of knew something like that was going to happen, the fact that King is the last Titan (that we know of) is INSANE I have a feeling that King's Dad was possibly killed by one of those guys or maybe even Belos, speaking of him he kept talking about he was going to use the Titan IS HE GOING TO USE KING?! Also the fact that they worship the Sun/Moon guy (I know he's the Collector but he reminds me too much of the Sun and the Moon from Five Nights at Freddy's so I'll just call him that). Also I just have to say Hooty and Lilith's friendship is goals I love those two (I really want a Hooty I know he's kind of annoying but I could talk to him and he can talk to me plus he can protect me... okay that sounds kind of sad but you get what I mean!) One small thing to add on to the Phillip related to the Clawthorne family theory: I think that the witch punished Phillip by taking the portal door. When Eda discovers the portal door, it's not too far away from the Clawthorne's house, so I think that the witch took the portal door and buried it outside her property, stranding Phillip on the Boiling Isles.

Again, I think the last Titan is one of King's parents, not King himself. King hatched from an egg, was protected in that temple alone by Jean Luc and then kidnapped/adopted by Eda. Bill said he SAW the Last Titan before it disappeared and it's "hateful roar" blew out his eardrums. How was he gonna see and hear a tiny baby still inside an egg? How would that egg escape? However, remember when King was in his egg there was a loud roar before he went back to sleep, only to hatch an unknown amount of time later? "I remember a deep roar... and then something happened! But I was too small to do anything! So I went back to sleep..." That WAS his parent escaping. Because when he comes out of the flashback he says, "That roar... it meant "son"! I don't know how I know that, but I do." Also, as an aside, the Boiling Isles Titan REALLY doesn't look like King. King's skull looks like a canid skull. The titan looks like a humanoid skull. And we've seen that there are ones with more crocodillian skulls. Different species of titan, all of them massive. Like the Subnautica leviathans.
