This is just gorgeous -- a beautiful choice, and I agree -- his voice is pure silk. And I love the way Leslie is so willing to let the song and his voice say what needs to be said. It's so understated. I mean, I love big emotional songs too, but this really got to me precisely because it was so pure and quiet. His vocal control is fantastic, and I love the seamless way he's able to move into his head voice and it's still just a silk ribbon unfurling -- there's no big change in his timbre. He's fantastic, and he always brings this elegance and charisma to everything he performs.

What impacted me was Leslie singing totally exposed with just the guitar. It 's similar to vocalists singing Mozart. It's like singing naked with minimal orchestration. I mentioned this before but I would love a vocal comparison of With One Look from Sunset Boulevard with Patti Lupone, Betty Buckley and Glenn Close. Also, I would thoroughly enjoy learning about you. How did you become interested in music? What did you study? How did you become a vocal coach? What is/was your least favorite musical?

It's funny you talk about when to breathe, when I listen to Leslie, it sounds as easy as breathing, do you know what I mean. He sings this like a natural body function, like he's just naturally living through this song. It's magical, his voice is naturally breathing the words. He needs to be up there with Celine, Frank, or Judy status.

Hey Marc, now sure how familiar you are with the song from the musical The Waitress "She Used To Be Mine" but Morissette Amon covered it and I honestly would love to hear your break down of her take on it!
I would love to see a discussion about the live musical rent and the movie version because it shared so much of the same cast. I think the movie is so highly regarded because they got a cast they knew could deliver. Other movie musicals seem to overlook Broadway performers for Hollywood performers, which is unfortunate. An example is casting Zac Efron instead of Jeremy Jordan in The Greatest Showman, no hate for Zac
@MarcDanielPatrick4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm. I would say a performer who originated the role - should seriously be considered for the movie version, yes. Your example doesn't exactly fit into that category, but I can see the point you're making.
