I will tell you tho first hand.. U pol lays down decant for what it is but WILL delaminate in the years to come. You get about 3-5 years Max out of that clear in direct sunlight. However for budget repairs, cheaper clients or used car repairs its not bad. It's actually cheaper than speedokote smr130 on some sites

Fantastic video as always Chris. Do you or could you do a video on tips and tricks when masking, especially door gaps. do you use DART or rolled edge masking tape for eg? I see some DART in this vid but would be good if you could go over it.

Love your videos! They have helped me a lot! I use a wider4, a kiwami4, and a W-400, for primer, base, and clear respectively. My primer and base come out great using your settings but when I spray my clear, I get so much orange peel. Got any setting recommendations for the W-400? Thanks

A little more psi and less fluid should do the trick.

Everytime I paint with this gun I'm amazed. Not because it's the best gun I've ever sprayed ,but the low air consumption and low overspray is unreal. It's hard for me to believe it can spray like that using less that 4 cfm's of air!

Beautiful finish there Chris, black always shows the gloss off nicely but it also shows every single bit of dirt, lint or what ever else managed to get in the clear🤦‍♂ Some useful tips there on cutting the amount of overspray when painting👏🙏👍John UK

If it sprays good and you have the air. Nothing wrong with hvlp guns I have and use them. Hvlp guns are good for voc compliance, that's the whole reason they were developed.

Check the TDS for the accuspray and use that as a guide it's been awhile since I've used mine. I imagine it's about 25 psi 2.5 turns out on fluid volume and fan to preference.

Dust, when I started my project I was doing everything that I could to eliminate dust while spraying, After wet sanding and respraying and still getting dust I just figured that I would be cutting and buffing so now I still try my best to eliminate dust but with the thought that I would be cutting and buffing.
@GarageNoise
@GarageNoise Жыл бұрын
Yeah, even in a booth you get dust. If I only have to nib out some dust I'm ok but it a lot more work to remove peel. Appreciate your comment and support!

I have watched a lot of your videos and I learned a lot about painting. But I would like to know what would be the smallest air compressor I can use for painting with an LVLP gun.
@GarageNoise
@GarageNoise Жыл бұрын
So you want a compressor that produces the most cfm's you can afford. You need a compressor that produces at least 6cfms. Hope this helps appreciate the comment!

Chris thanks for another great vid. On my paint job I was getting flakes of paint coming up from the masking foil around my paint area during spraying clear coat. The flakes were of the sealer and base I just sprayed. Do you know why that happens?

Pls help. This question in in regards to body work and block sanding a vehicle . I'm having difficulty getting my block sanding on every section of the car even/level throughout the entire car. Meaning this ... I block sand each section using guide coats and proper blocks, technique , etc. , But when I complete one section then move onto the next, I repeat and that section also comes out great , but then when I compare to the section I just did right next to this one, it's not even, level with each other. I'm not talking inches, not even centimeters, but I am a very detailed ocd prrson, and I'm talking milimetrrs.... Not necessarily enough difference to where a normal person would be able to tell, but enough of a variance where someone like me would be able to detect if looking extremely closely. Do u happen to have any advice or suggestions on how to remedy this or is this an unavoiadable thing
@GarageNoise
@GarageNoise Жыл бұрын
Sounds like it's minor but Hard for me to say. Some minor waves like that can be corrected in the primer and block sanding process. This may be the case.
