As a California Boy who has driven the coast multiple times, you are in for an awesome trip. We are doing the West Coast again this summer, but not the California Coast in our 40' Class A toyhauler. If driving through Yosemite with the Minnie Winnie you still aren't going to make friends driving on the road, but with your jeep, it will be a groovy happening experience. I hope you can stay in the Yosemite Valley overnight. It gets so much quieter, maybe even have some bears come through camp. Hug a few trees in the redwood forest, we'll be doing that ourselves in a few weeks after the Fulltime Families Rally, a week up at Tahoe, and a week in the SF Bay.

Mom, dad and 5 kids in a 9' camper? One was only a few months old. She slept under the dining table that turned into a bed. Yup. That's how we grew up. Dad worked for Weyerhaeuser. He'd find a little blue circle somewhere on the map in the middle of nowhere in the Cascade Mountains. Not even a port-a-pottie. Some of my best memories. Oh you’re going to love it. We have a 2019, 25 foot Thor Synergy. We literally just got home on Thursday. We live in Vancouver, BC and we drove all the way down the coast from Vancouver BC to Washington, Oregon, and California and were away a month. Granted there’s just two of us but let’s face it, you’re outside most of the time. You will most definitely appreciate the smaller RV on the curvy roads and tight National parks. Stop by Fern Canyon in the Redwoods of NorCal. It is where Jurassic Park 2 was filmed. Beautiful and a great little hike. It is inside of Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park.

I just sold my 2018 Winnie, had a wonderful time traveling in “Moose”. The things I didn’t like and will never have again and the reason I sold it was the corner bed, no pantry, plastic and tight toilet area. I used all the cabinets over the table for Pantry which was ok, but not ideal. There is more storage under the booth seats if you need, but you have to lift the cushions. The good part, never had any mechanical issues, it was very reliable. I’m excited to see your adventure, safe travels. 😉 Have fun!!

Adding... this might be a size of rv you want to keep on hand for exactly the reasons you are getting it now. The larger one is great for full time living but the smaller one you can swing back through TN every few months and swap out for the other one. Maybe get on a big then small rotation.

We were just there and I knew where the RV parking was....the people there were so nice as I would approach they would point me to where i was to go. We had made good time from New Hampshire so we had time for Dollywood, a spur of the moment decision and also for the Bread...I loved the park and all the people.

We have a Winnebago View and love it. Yes we find camping spots without problems. Love our View but it’s just 2 retired folks! I use bins for everything. You could put shelves in the closet. Enjoy!

Easy way to make up a corner bed: with fitted sheet, start in far left corner, #2, move to the far upper right, #3 pull sheet down and move to the left corner, lastly the end right corner. Done. Good luck

So we just bought a 31 foot 5th wheel (2013) (New to us). We also have a 2019 pop-up truck camper for the Dodge for going in tight places or to get off-road. It works for us.

Super excited for you guys to visit out West. I'm sure you have a long list of places to visit, but I wanted to offer a suggestion, Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park. It is (way) up the California coast, just south of Crescent City, near the more popular Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park (which is wonderful too), but there is something about Del Norte that is just so special. I think it is how almost Jurassic Parkish it feels, with these huge tree stumps that are all moss covered and moss hanging from the giant trees, it is truly magical. No playground for Hensley and JJ, but so many instant 'forts' and lots of adventures to be had. Enjoy your journey!

We have a 2018 Minnie Winnie also, the only exception is our kitchen is on the side where your table is and my table is not round. We like it quite a bit we do not live in it full time as our home base is in Pahrump NV. We do not tow another vehicle. My storage for food is above the sink and for the dishes etc is above the couch, and yes I have made that bed by myself. We also have taken our rig down and up the California coast Loved it and you will to, Enjoy and Safe travels. God Bless

Here is a tip about Yosemite Valley. If they allow you to still drive down into the valley, check out the Information Board immediately to see if anyone left a note about an open campground spot. I arrived with no reservations and found such a deal because a guy's family member decided to not come and join the family. Otherwise, good luck trying to get a camping spot in the valley as it is usually a year out to reserve. Gasoline will be over $6 a gallon along the coast. I think you will find the Oregon coast much nicer, very rugged. So much to see and love on your west coast trip.

This should make it the tri-fecta of RVs. You had the class A, then the Airstream, stayed in a van (class B) in Hawaii and the fifth wheel at your home base. So the class C is the last onw on your bingo card. Maybe we'll see you on the road this summer!

You should do Route 66! We have a 32’ Class C with a tow and we did Georgia to Illinois then did Route 66 to Santa Monica. Took us 17 days and only stayed at Cracker Barrel’s. Now headed to Alaska to work our 3rd summer in Denali.

We started big when we lived in ours withb2 kids and a dog for 6 months. Now we have a 25' travel trailer with 4 kids - the queen bed is a Murphy bed. We are pretty comfy in there - we've only done 2 weeks so far as our longest in it though! But...double the kids soo I have faith in you making it 😎

Funny. You can do this! Growing up we took extended summer vacations for 6 years with my family of four in a Ford Econoline van conversion. Now we have been full-timing in a 25 ft Winnebago View for 4 years. Enjoy your California Roadtrip. It is our Home Country

When you arrive in CA I highly recommend Kamp Klamath. It is a privately owned campground, in the redwoods about 1.3 miles (to be exact) from where the river flows into the ocean. There is a huge sand spit where the seals and sea lions hang out to try and steal a fisherman's catch before it can get reeled to shore. It is located off hwy 101 exit 148. I have workamped there for 3 summers to get out of the AZ heat. There is a playground, hiking trails and, of course, the redwoods. I think you would enjoy this slice of heaven away from the hustle-bustle of other campgrounds. Would love to meet you guys.

Only for 2 months, that is just a vacation. We traded in our 24ft Passport trailer for a 2019 Minnie Winnie 22R. 23ft 10 inches. It is so much easier to drive. We will be towing our 2013 Honda CRV. That is the same lay out as ours. I love the large drawer under the closet. I put my cookware in there. We just went through testing the braking system on our toad today. Yes, making the bed is hard. I live in N. Calif, Gateway to the Redwoods. Enjoy your trip. I will be following your channel

Had to laugh - We were at Riveredge at the same time. We saw you pull in and my husband said - we must have a KZbinr (he could see you filming when you first pulled into the campground). Oh my. We owned a very similar, no slide Itasca C, 24 footer 2016, for about 18 months while we still owned our 36 ft. fiver. The good news is that it should be a great traveler for the trip you are going on, the bad news is that 4 people in it will make you so long for your fiver, but you guys got this! We did ours with 2 oldsters and a dog, and never got west with it. I love your sense of adventure and can’t wait to see the journey, as this is one of the same trips we have not been able to do in the US, that I wish we could do as well. Be sure to come to the Boardwalk amusement park in Santa Cruz. Our pier is really special too. You can see Sea Lions under it. We have a couple of beautiful RV parks up in the Redwoods on Highway 9 near Henry Cowell Redwood State Park.

As a SoCal native and fellow rv'er this is the right choice for a ca rv trip. We have a 33 foot 5er and don't stay in national parks because we are too large. We did 2 weeks in Alaska last summer with our 2 boys in the same length. They loved sharing the cab over bed.

Yes! 24 ft is the sweet spot for a lot of those parks. Here goes nothing!

We have an RV Superbag for our corner bed, no longer have to tuck the sheets plus we replaced the stock 6" Winnebago 25B corner bed mattress for an 8" Mattress Insider pocketed coil mattress. Our 2016 25B is 2ft. longer then the 22R in the video and adds a couch to the floor plan.

You will love the west coast! It is different than any other state as far as scenery and weather goes. As a Californian, I have been up and down all three major highways. Just one caution, prepare for extremely high gas prices! $6+ per gallon is average. Welcome to the Golden State and enjoy your journey!!
