Cheers to the man making these videos! (my advice for total beginners feeling lost in all the setting nuances...) start with the default lancia italia frnt whl car. add wheel stability settings, kick the wheels out to 1.20degrees each and angle them in to .20degrees each. brake bias 66percent(but switch to 58 once u get the hang and want faster brake and turn) the gear differential down all the way on gear 1 and up a bit for gear 4 with even steps between, leave final drive( make shorter for rally cross and tracks with no straight aways make longer if straight aways are prevelent. set each differential up 2 clicks for stability. put your dampening 1 click from the highest for all. put ride height 1 click from lowest frnt and rear. springs 1 click from highest, antiroll to soft at 25%. save these settings! and get these down! (you have to start somewhere) mmaster safety before speed. you'll be using your brake to help you turn with these settings. (slow in fast out!) practice driving in that every turn u risk hitting the inside rather than going wide (risking to much speed). always brake before hand braking! handbrake should be used for apprx . 72mph and below! and only needed for hairpins, 1s and slippery 2s.) hit 3 or 4 handbrake rapid taps when using it to give u bursts of stability and help you a guage how much you need. remember get your car pointing where you want it to go before full throttle! if your staring at a turn while accelerating your going to go off track. the second you can see the next straight, smoothly go full to full throttle. (more or less) its often full throttle for 3-4 seconds at a time followed by a smooth transition to no throttle for 1 or 2 secs with variable braking to get you pointed where you want to go This is my real attempt at a sim-racing game, im now on elite with the hardest group b cars. I started with these settings, got them down went from there. get down frnt wheel drive before all wheel drive, and all wheel before rear wheel. cheers! any Q's? ask 'em!

Yes, I'm fully aware. I just don't see anyone using pc vr dirt rally 2.0. All I see are people with three monitors. I'm on ps4 psvr every night and wouldn't want to play games are not in vr now.

My point being, there are more people playing the old vr dirt rally on ps4 psvr than dirt 2.0 on pc and ps4 put together. I've managed to help sell two copies of dirt vr this week. They had too download it as physical copies non existence at top price I might add. Dirt 2.0 is everywhere for pennies. Check out my last stream. Full lobby and more wanted in. Code masters missed out on millions not bringing 2.0 to psvr. I'm still selling the vr version to people via KZbin and you can't give Dirt 2.0 away. Marketing blunder.( Last stream was set to members only, set to public now.)

Hear hear. When I saw tutorial title I got excited. Than I saw the length of the vid and I knew it was going to be bullshit. Game as complex and difficult as Dirt requires proper videos explain different ideas like Scandinavian flick, throttle control, and those 2 are different if we change surface conditions so for each type of surface you can start from scratch again. This video is mór of an ad than tutorial

@@kamael1125 the games been out a while now, weird to advertise now. There are plenty of tutorials for rallying on KZbin. But I agree, it would be nice for Codemasters to have a channel, one dedicated on tutorials for the advanced driving that can be applied to their games, with guests and interviews from real life drivers, you tubers or esports gamers. That would be a first for a publisher. Everyone is cynical because if this had come out at launch, it would definitely have been nothing more than promotional and no one would bat an eyelid. So why now?

Okay, but I would like to see you show how to use the clutch with sequential and H pattern transmission cars. There is a lot of time that can be saved, but not using a clutch and an H pattern, but for realism, you can't beat doing it correctly for each type of transmission. The footwork is a lot different for different cars. Yes, some sequential transmissions actually use a clutch, some just to start and stop and some for each shift. You can really hear the differences with a quality headset and how it shifts with and w/o the clutch.

Sounds like too much throttle. See if you can feather it through the turns and hold a slight with slight countersteering.

I agree, but it's very hard to explain things, you really just have to get a feel for it. In simple terms, rear wheel drive means that hitting the accelerator in a corner means that the back end will want to rotate, aka oversteer. Front wheel drive means that hitting the accelerator in turns means your front end will lose grip and your car will want to continue straight, aka understeer. All wheel drive will be a mix of the two. You just have to balance your steering, throttle, and brakes to achieve your desired outcome, which will be different depending on your drive type. I suggest starting with front wheel drive if you're new

Prob because 2.0 did not go to VR on the Playstation. We have it but prefer to play the previous vr version. We all bought it with the promise of vr version. Only the pc got vr. Code masters messed up big time. No Playstation owner is interested in 2.0. If any rally Playstation fan owner has any sense they will play dirt rally vr compatible.

I don't believe it is good to discuss drive types without at least mentioning engine location. A front engine rwd is quite different in characteristics to mid engined rwd and rear engined rwd for example. Like wise for AWD. Granted it would make for a much longer video, but it should at least be acknowledged in this video and possibly covered in a follow up video. This way, you don't have a situation where someone newer to these concepts gets confused as to why two cars in the same class behave so very differently from each other.

I have to put my ear at the speaker to sometimes understand this guy. Pronounciation and articulation really bad due to heavy accent. 1:36 an example. Leads to tight class? Leads to type blush? Time lass? Ohhh ok time lost

the gameplay is great though, but I miss a bit of guidance. It’s notifying me of my team engineers etc and I have no idea what that means. I don’t even understand when to buy a new car, or how to select one 😁 I hope it will become clearer as I advance in career.
