Hello Jennifer! I often watch your lessons. I'm trying to learn english from your lessons. I have a question that, Shouldn't be 'an' before "week"? I'm talking about the lesson 74.
@Englishwithjennifer
@Englishwithjennifer Жыл бұрын
Can you please copy the full sentence? "Week" is a countable noun, so we usually an article before a singular noun: a busy week, a week full of meetings, etc. But there are phrases and expressions that don't require the article: week after week. We only use "an" before a vowel sound: an easy week, an amazing week.

Good practice! My suggestions: 1. I practice English every day. / I practice speaking English every day. / I study English every day. / I learn new things in English every day. 2. "Exercise" here refers to physical exercise, for example, riding a bike or swimming. >> I exercise every morning. I take walks. COMPARE: I practice English every day. I always practice through KZbin videos. 3. "Per" is correct, but it's a little more formal. I'd say, "Two or three times a week."

The other app had the same situation, when I subscribed the robocot calls starting popping on my phone. What can we do about this issue? I know it's free but those calls are really annoying. Thanks for your efforts to bring us free classes to those like me that can't afford it. 💕

Hi. I haven't had any spam emails/calls resulting after I joined Kiki. I think they need the phone number for verification. They're avoiding fake accounts/spam accounts. I think you can still view Kiki posts without joining, but I'm not sure.

I would like to advise a technique for pronouncing the word 'often.' I'd split it into two words: of ten. I'm not a fan of encouraging the dropping of the 't.' Quite often. Quite of ten I do this quite often. I often encourage correct pronunciation of words. 'Quite' is another word that causes confusion. We often see it confused with 'quiet.' Be quiet as there is quite a lot of concentration required.

What do you think is more common in British English? Guess what? I went through the first 5 results on YouGlish for UK and for US. For both varieties, I heard 4 without the T and 1 with. I went really fast just now. Hmm. ;)

@@Englishwithjennifer I must confess to never pronouncing that word without it's 't.'Many spelling errors are born of incorrect pronunciation. I like it when people break up words to emphasize their importance. By doing so, they reveal how to spell the word: Definitely? We must def in itely do it today. Often? I do study of ten. Catastrophic? Not studying would be cat a strophic. Unquestionably? That would be un question ably the wrong course of action. Unnecessary? That is un necessary. Authenticity? We need au then ticity. Sarcophagus? What an amazing sar co phagus this is. Rhododendron? I love rho do dend ron bushes so much! There are exceptions ( I could a would a should a done better) and so many words have silent letters also. They must never be confused for the pronunciation of all the letters in a word. @@Englishwithjennifer i have made lessons where I read out longer words to assist in pronunciation and spelling. I also made a lesson which focused on various sounds with certain word groupings, like 'ough' and 'augh,' Cough, Tough, Through, Daughter, Laughter. There are many examples of words which look like they're pronounced one way, but are pronounced very differently. I was toying with the idea of making a video entitled this: Funny Words. Sounds like a possibility? Can it be done? Is it possible? Yes, I suppose. It could be done.

@Englishwithjennifer
@Englishwithjennifer 5 жыл бұрын
It's okay, but it does sound a bit wordy. I'd say something like, "I haven't been to class since I came back from vacation." OR "I've missed a lot of classes. I was on vacation."

Context: You saw that your friend is online What do u say if she is still online? >> I see you're still online. A: I've been ill. B: I'm sorry. What's wrong? Have you seen a doctor yet? (Still sick. Not better yet.)

Ma'am i am so sorry but want to ask one more ques Regarding this sentence''i havent attended any classes ." shouldnt we use simple past "I didnt attend any class after vacation" Because the time to attend those missed classes has gone and we use present perfect for an action which is possible in future Like 'i havent been to thailand' But there is a possibility to go in future But in the above sentence he cant attend missed classes Please answer ma'am please
@Englishwithjennifer
@Englishwithjennifer 5 жыл бұрын
"didn't attend" = all in the past "haven't attended" = from a past point up to now The phrase "after vacation" is problematic with the present perfect. We usually use "since" or "for."

Hi Roseli. I'm glad you're watching the series. You'll get to see their progress over time. I wanted to select students who were roughly at the same level as Natasha when I stopped at Lesson 65 in the older playlist. Lessons 66-74 were taken from the first two sessions back in March. I've been meeting with these wonderful ladies since then, but we can only meet once a week. Even so, I'm happy to hear them talking more on camera with me. Progress is often made one small step at a time. :)
