Hi Sergei! You mean at the end with the flashcards? I was going fast, but I wanted to see if the ladies had memorized those irregular forms. The did pretty well! It's all about practice. You can make your own flashcards and go more slowly. :)

Which tone is about least need to be said and which is usually regarded as more or less neutral !??? Please answer me ! 1.Fall rise 2. rise 3.fall
@Englishwithjennifer4 жыл бұрын
It depends on the statement and context. A neutral sentence uses falling intonation. A yes-no question naturally uses rising intonation. Stress for emphasis can change your meaning, however. Please see my playlist on intonation. :)

Thank you for your lesson, I'm learning a lot ... I have a question, if the negative form in past tense is didn't + verb in present.. Why in the story say "I could not" ??? Thank you
@Englishwithjennifer4 жыл бұрын
Good question! CAN and COULD are modal verbs. They are a type of helping verb, so we don't use the helping verbs DID, DO, DOES with them. CAN is used for the present. COULD is used for the past (to talk about ability).

Actually, if I make negative sentence then why I need to take v1 past form of verb.what is the reason are working behind it please can you make me understand.
@Englishwithjennifer4 жыл бұрын
The simple past uses DID NOT (didn't) + the base verb of the main verb. I ate. (+) I didn't eat. (-) DID is a helping verb. For the verb BE, just add NOT. I was tired. (+) I wasn't tired (-)

Hello! Here is my story, but I don't know how to end it. Ha ha! Nimo and Mimo were two noisy kids. They used to wake up early in the morning and make lots of tricks.They made a mess in the village:They bothered and teased others; They threw balls,stones and different objects in other people' houses, everyone complained about that, but the kids never knew how to stop .One day, an old woman came to the village with the claim of having magical powers to turn bad children to good ones, the villagers considered her as a witch, and they relied on her to hold down the kids who turned up to be the villains of the neighborhood because of their bad manners.........
@Englishwithjennifer4 жыл бұрын
Hi. I like open-ended stories. :) Then everyone can imagine a different ending. Maybe the "witch" helped change Nimo and Mimo, and they became good, but as a result, other children became bad! So the people asked the old woman to change things back. So in the end, everyone had to accept Nimo and Mimo and learn to teach them slowly through example. I haven't taught "used to" to Flavia and Andreia. That's an intermediate topic. But in your story, you can still use many past tense verbs: they always woke up early the made a mess in their village the bothered and teased others the threw... everyone complained etc. Thanks for sharing your story!

What a super lesson this is. Irregular verbs get so many students confused. This website shows just about all of them: languageonschools.com/blog/english-irregular-verbs-list/. In this list we will see irregular verbs in their simple past and past participle for,m, We use the past participle when writing in the present and past perfect, tense. Examples: Simple Past: i swam in that pool yesterday. Present Perfect: I have swum in that pool many times. Past Perfect: I had swum in that swimming pool before.
@Englishwithjennifer4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the list is long, so I advise any student not to study too many at once. Many of the verbs in this lesson were familiar to the ladies. Only a handful were new. That's important. Thanks for the positive support.
@stunninglad14 жыл бұрын
@@Englishwithjennifer I agree. The list should be for reference purposes. An ESL student would take a while memorizing all 85 irregular verbs. However, the more advanced students can use the list to practice writing sentences in the various tenses.
