You give the absolute best classes on the scriptures. Your training is long enough to explore the scripture block but not so long that I can never find enough time to get through the whole lesson. Thank you!

I’m so grateful for my ancestors, friends who have passed and loved ones among us. When I attend the Temple, I put names of loved ones on both sides of the veil who are on my mind on the prayer roll. 🙏🏻 ♾️

I laughed when you described the daughter of Jared, saying she was wanting to kill “grandpa.” Not that it was particularly funny, but that it made it seem absurd. Who wants to kill grandpa? And, I’d never thought of it that way. I tend to read through the lists of people and I don’t relate them to each other. Thanks for making these scriptures “real” for me.

Thank you so much. I’ve learned more about these particular Jaredites. By the way, didn’t the Jaredites bring animals from where they came from to this land, it says so in the scriptures - that animals were included in their trip to the promised land. Thank you for all your wonderful teachings.👍💗💗💗🙏🙏🙏😊

Mosiahs sons were not away I think he would have continued the kingdom, so reading the Jaredite record and discontinuing kings were not related directly. He wisely discontinued kings because of the risk of division because some people would claim kingship that were not the rightful heir. I'm sure the Jaredite experience made him even more aware of the dangers of that situation.

I'd love to see a class on false traditions of our fathers, recognizing them and turning from then to God. This is much needed in the lds church today in particular. Especially trusting in the arm of flesh and false prophets/wolves in sheep's clothing.

Re Eth 6:11 It's very interesting to me that when I looked up the meaning of 344 in Hebrew Gematria, one meaning is 'Anointed One.' There's an indirect reference to Jesus Christ. Perhaps an Easter Egg to us from Moroni.

Considering that according to Jerry Grover's work, Akish's name means something like "Secret Netherworld Power" and his father Kimnor's name means "Earth's begetter of Ruin", Omer should have seen this coming.

I keep wondering if the scheming daughter of Jared also encouraged Akish to murder her father; and if so when did she plot the second murder? Was it her intent from the beginning to have her future husband become king and she become queen? 🤔

And how did she feel when Akish murdered her son? There’s a lot of mysteries here!

Like the music and spoken word program, I always thought instead of one voice being narrator they should get a family and have a boy not yet gone thru voice change to give part of it then mom give a quote where her voice fits the situation then have dad tie it all together, then involving a family would become a message in and of its self

You have not done your research. This is a very uneducated comment and rather insulting to brother Hilton who invested significant time in preparing an uplifting discussion. There are plenty of podcasts with women or women as guests. Also, people from a variety of backgrounds, races, education, and life experience. Also, why does it even matter? The scriptures are the scriptures. It shouldn't matter the gender of the person teaching. And finally, if you feel there needs to be more female voices, you could start your own (assuming that you are female).

Writing for our day Moroni let us know that secret combinations kill prophets as they always have from the beginning. ...𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑖𝑡 [𝑎 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑏𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛] 𝑖𝑠 𝑏𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑡 𝑢𝑝 𝑏𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑙, 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑓 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑠; 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑠𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑙𝑖𝑎𝑟 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑏𝑒𝑔𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑒𝑑 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠, 𝑦𝑒𝑎, 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑠𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑙𝑖𝑎𝑟 𝑤ℎ𝑜 ℎ𝑎𝑡ℎ 𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑚𝑎𝑛 𝑡𝑜 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑖𝑡 𝑚𝑢𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔; 𝑤ℎ𝑜 ℎ𝑎𝑡ℎ ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑚𝑒𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝒎𝒖𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒔, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑎𝑠𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚 𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔. Ether 8:25 What prophets have been murdered in our day? Joseph, Hyrum, and we might include Samuel Smith just to be comprehensive. Next we turn to Mormon 8 also written by Moroni and even more direct and detailed. 40 𝑌𝑒𝑎, 𝑤ℎ𝑦 𝑑𝑜 𝑦𝑒 𝑏𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑑 𝑢𝑝 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑡 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑔𝑒𝑡 𝑔𝑎𝑖𝑛, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝒘𝒊𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒔 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑚𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑛 𝑏𝑒𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑑, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑙𝑠𝑜 𝒐𝒓𝒑𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑛 𝑏𝑒𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑑, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑙𝑠𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑓𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 ℎ𝑢𝑠𝑏𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑐𝑟𝑦 𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑑 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑔𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑, 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑢𝑝𝑜𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑠? Emma and her children, Mary Fielding and her children, Levira Clark and her daughters. Widows and orphans (in the sense that they have lost their fathers). 41 𝐵𝑒ℎ𝑜𝑙𝑑, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑡ℎ 𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑦𝑜𝑢; 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑜𝑛 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 ℎ𝑒 𝑎𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑠 𝑢𝑝𝑜𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢, 𝑓𝑜𝑟 ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑠𝑢𝑓𝑓𝑒𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑐𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑦 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑟. For there to be a "you" to have the blood of prophets and saints avenged upon in the future then this secret combination must exist today until they are soon destroyed. 24 𝑊ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑑 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑡ℎ 𝑦𝑜𝑢, 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑦𝑒 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑠𝑒𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑠𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑎𝑚𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑦𝑒 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑎 𝑠𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑎𝑤𝑓𝑢𝑙 𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝑏𝑒𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑏𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑐ℎ 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑎𝑚𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑦𝑜𝑢; 𝑜𝑟 𝑤𝑜 𝑏𝑒 𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑜 𝑖𝑡, 𝑏𝑒𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚 𝑤ℎ𝑜 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑠𝑙𝑎𝑖𝑛; 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑐𝑟𝑦 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑢𝑝𝑜𝑛 𝑖𝑡, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑙𝑠𝑜 𝑢𝑝𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑏𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑡 𝑖𝑡 𝑢𝑝. Ether 8. Only a secret combination within the church would get gain and power from the deaths of prophets. Seeing these things coming among you refers to within and among the church today, and also refers to finally seeing what happened to the Smith brothers by a secret combination that came among the church.
