That's why I dislike the idea of X-men are black people that a majority of people think especially when they think Charles and Magneto are a reflection of Martin Luther and Malcom X. They even made a alt universe comic where literally all the X men are black soooo... I agree with your idea of the X men being an allegory of change/Evolution cause it's something I've always thought of considering people are afraid of change and what's different
@theguy8594Ай бұрын
Mhm. And when you look at it through that perspective, people start to get confused at how the Avengers and F4 are beloved by the public while the X-Men are hated on. The Mutant hate isn’t race-based or skin colour-based like in real life, but genetics-based. The Avengers (mostly) are seen as exemplary members of humanity, while the x-men are seen as the next evolutionary step that threatens to destroy humanity. Xavier wants to prove that wrong while Magneto wants that destruction to happen. The racial divide between humans and mutants is less like the one between the white man and the black man, and more like the divide between the Neanderthal and the Human.

Honestly I thought the premise/problem was already solved to some extent when the X-Men were integrated into new factions like Unity Squad and The Uncanny Avengers. Being treated with relative equality and respect like most other super powered beings is the best case scenario for mutants as a concept. As it stands they've gone from being marginalized to being isolative and resistant to change. To being spitedul to those that are sukilar to them. The need to be a brand is actively crushing the relevancy of the X-Men. The mutant characters are all great but when they're united as X-Men it just feels kind of hollow. At least this is how I felt, your proposition is getting the gears turning As for the Sentinels being used and collected for non mutant threats, I believe they were used as a threat Tony was trying to prevent in Civil War, whoever much sense that was made, their purpose changed to hunt anyone who didn't register or something like that. It was like one panel with Tony eluding to everyone being hunted down or something. I think thus concept of the Sentinels being integrated into other stories more is a soind one As for the idea you've come to revitalize them, I think it's solid, that, the simple presence of the fact that people can be born with powers forcing the world to adapt to accommodate or reject the phenomenon is solid. I could see arguments being made concerning law enforcement especially who feel like they need to be beefed up for the mere threat of encountering mutants, and the obvious issues and pressures that come from that idea give a lot of new story potential.

I don't think the X-men ever solved the whole "mutantkind are essentially dangerous and unpredictable" problem people have been saying about because at the bottom line, the writers are writing about a power fantasy. There is no middle ground because I don't think they want there to be and for your Sentinel tech for personal self-defense, it's always framed in a way that a human villain uses it. It's why attempts of a mutant cure is always painted in a negative light despite it even made consensual for the recipient.
@happysocialmoth1197Ай бұрын
FR-, and the funny thing is- the fear of mutants using their gifts for evil and selfish desires happens SO many times from many supervillains in nearly all comic book properties. Even if they're not ‘mutants’ canonically, this still doesn't equate to the fact that mfs with powers CAN be dangerous to everyone.
@saibulumollelАй бұрын
Hey, i don't know if you are reading the current xmen run, but in the adjectiveless xmen comic, humans are becoming mutants as adults and are most likely given their mutations through science that we don't know off. Its an interesting concept that i hope changes the human, mutant relationship going forward. I do think that this book is one to keep an eye on as Its the only one that is talking about this in this new era.
@saibulumollelАй бұрын
Also, your idea is interesting as we haven't had a faction that uses sentinel tech to defend and protect their community from any enemy, regardless of they are human or mutant. Whenever we have humans who have tech like that, they are either the purifiers, u man, cyborg sentinels, etc who all hunt mutants so this would be an interesting change. In this current era the only book that has the potential to have humans who want to protect themselves and also care for mutants would be in adjectiveless since that book is based in Alaska and the xmen are close to a human town. Uncanny seems to be an outlaw book with a small team and are doing Charles dream the old fashioned way while recovering from krakoa. Exceptional is an Emma and kitty book teaching kids, so similar to the new mutants or x Gen.

I always had an idea that all the marvel superheroes should set up a united association. Not a registration like in civil war, but under but something like the fantastic four we're all branches of people are able to reach out and work closer together HERE ARE THE LEVELS : STREET-LEVEL HEROES level one -like Spider-Man and Luke Cage and Daredevil NATIONAL HEROES level two - like Captain America and iron Man and thor. And INTERNATIONAL HEROS AND TEAMS level three - like Avengers, and X-Men and fantasic four Different heroes can be on different levels but decisions are based on intuitive contribution, not hierarchy That way decisions can be made way easier, and there won't be as much in Fighting due to there being very little freedom in the system. The whole association go is a membership, not full-time.

Hi, I'm not a repeat reader of X-Men, so I don't know if this topic has really been explored. but, is there any reason for humans NOT to be afraid of mutants? what I mean to say... mutants are above all, beings that awaken random powers at random, ranging from being blue to even having a power capable of destroying the planet. So when you look at it from that side, the fear that humans have of mutants is completely justifiable. and again, I'm not a big X-men reader, so I can't say for sure, but as far as I know, the stories have always treated any kind of prevention or "cure" against mutants as something essentially bad, which I honestly don't care about. seems to make a lot of sense.
