In this video, I show you how to fish for catfish on the Ohio River, I show you the easiest and most simplistic way of catching catfish and anyone can do it PLUS I try this new preserved catfish bait from "Dark Water Premium Baits" made from Asian carp. I grew up in Newark NJ, I spent many summers in the 1960's on the Ohio River. My uncle had a Package goods store and bar in the place called Fly Ohio. And a house on the river in a town, New Matamoras. Many fond memories.

Another great video Mr. Douglas! I can't wait until I buy my first boat so I can try drifting for catfish. When I was younger my grandpa would take me out on his boat and he would love drifting baits for catfish, I think he used drift socks or something like that but we would always catch a ton on catfish. Steve I have fished with these for two years in the IL river. Great bait and super available! The difference is the Ohio and TN have quality fish......Illinois has unfortunately silted in to some extent. Ten pound channel are awesome, fifteen pound flats. Wish you could train some blues to head our way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use the Walmart Zebco line too. Its the best cheap line out there. I use the 4 lb for Crappie same diameter as Trilene XL

Steve a barge bait is easy to explain. The barges sit so low in the water that as they move it causes alot of vibration witch in turn causes the fish to move from it's path and if there is a fish near you bite it will grab it on the run.

Hello Steve. I'm heading toward Altoona from near Boston on my way to West Virginia strictly for catfish. I've done as much research as possible from as possible from 700 or 800 Miles away. I know I can fish Stonewall Jackson , Bluestone lake, As well as the Kanawha River But how about throwing a guy a bone. Without being a spot burner can you give a guy a couple of hints on where shore access can be found. I'm not looking for one of your UDLs. Back home that stands for undisclosed location. If you were in my shoes What 20 miles of river would you try to fish? If you have nothing to share don't worry it's all good.

Snell your hooks, bite through 50# leader with your teeth, trim your line with your bait knife. Catch fish. All you preppy, high dollar overthinkers take note.
